NBA Playoffs Betting Tips: Tuesday May 24th
Miami Heat at Boston Celtics
Tuesday 10:30am AEST, TD Garden
The Celtics led in nearly all the important major statistics in Game 3 but it still wasn’t good enough as they went down 103-109 on their home deck. Jimmy Butler played only one half of that game due to knee soreness, which put a lot of the pressure on their other All-Star in Bam Adebayo who dominated with a 31/10/6 split on 68% shooting.
Butler is still a chance to suit up in Game 4 which is obviously a huge boost to the Heat’s chances, but you wonder how healthy he really is considering the short turnaround. He joins Kyle Lowry, PJ Tucker and Tyler Herro as doubtful players for the Heat, while Marcus Smart and Robert Williams are also facing fitness tests to prove they’re able to take to the court on Tuesday.
The health and availability of Jimmy Butler will go a long way to determining the outcome of this result and potentially even the series. Still, the Celtics are the deserving favourites on their home deck whether or not Butler suits up and I expect them to play with unparalleled intensity in what’s a must-win game for them. Celtics to cover the spread here in my opinion.

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks
Wednesday 11am, American Airlines Center
The Warriors moved one step close to heading back to the NBA Finals with a determined 109-100 win in Game 3. They led at the end of every break despite being the travelling side and hold a 3-0 advantage in this series, which is a lead no team in NBA playoffs history has ever come back from.
Luka Doncic has been magnificent again in this series with 102 combined points in the three games, but unfortunately, he hasn’t had anywhere near the amount of help he had in their upset win against the Suns in the second round. For the warriors, Steph Curry was brilliant with a 30-point double-double in Game 3, while Andrew Wiggins broke out for 27 points and an unforgettable poster.
While the Warriors have proven to be the far better outfit in this series, I’m expecting a natural drop-off in their intensity now that they hold an unassailable series lead. It’s understandable that the bookies still have the Warriors as the slight favourites, but I’m prepared to back Luka and co. into forcing at least a Game 5.
