NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 18th of January
Milwaukee Bucks at Atlanta Hawks

The Bucks have gone off the boil a bit to start 2022, winning just three of their eight games to date. Most recently they were upset at home by the in-form Raptors, losing by seven points and failing to score triple-figures for the second time in three games. Despite all of that, the Bucks are just two games back from top spot in the East standings.
The Hawks have started 2022 just as poorly as they finished 2021 and are now in real danger of seeing their playoff hopes fade away. They enter this slate having lost each of their last five games which has seen them slip to eight games below .500 at 17-25. It’s now a long road back for the Hawks who haven’t won back-to-back games since late November.
Neither of these teams would be pleased with how they’ve performed so far in 2022, but the Bucks have still been the better of the two. They’ve put together a decent enough road record of 13-10 this campaign and have the perfect opportunity to get back on the winners list against a Hawks team who are 8-11 on their home deck.

Portland Trail Blazers at Orlando Magic

The Trail Blazers were blown off the court in Denver against the Nuggets on Friday, but were able to quickly gather themselves to win an impressive one against the Wizards last start. The Blazers have been without both of their stars Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum for some time now, but look to have found a new star in Anfernee Simons who’s on some kind of a tear right now.
The Magic were always going to struggle this season in what’s likely going to be a very long rebuild. They’ve handed the keys to their high draft picks in Cole Anthony and Franz Wagner and while they’ve certainly showed some great ability, they’re finding wins very hard to come by. The Magic lost their most recent game against the Mavericks by 16 points, making it 11 losses from their last 12 games.
Despite playing severely undermanned in recent games, the Blazers have been able to reel off a number of impressive wins and as a result, should be the clear favourites in this matchup in our opinion. They may not be the most consistent team in the competition, but the Blazers should be able to negotiate the win against the inexperienced and erratic Magic.

Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs

The Suns were far too good for the lowly Pistons in their more recent outing, defeating them by 27 points to make it three wins from as many games on their current road trip. They just continue to play consistent basketball and tick over the win column, particularly on their travels where they have the best record for the second straight season.
The Spurs were finally able to snap their losing streak at five when defeating the out-of-sorts Clippers at home by seven points last time out. It’s been a really tough couple of weeks for the youthful Spurs who have lost nine of their last 11 games, which has seen them fall to 12th spot in the West standings and 11 games behind .500 at 16-27.
These teams have already faced each other twice this season, once in Phoenix and once in San Antonio, with the Suns winning on each occasion by four points. On current form, it’s hard to make a case for the Spurs to get one back on the defending Western Conference champions here, alas, we see them losing once again and failing to cover the spread in the process.
