The A-League title race is really starting to take shape, Melbourne City and Western United emerging as the frontrunners in a gruelling season. Both sides hit the road for important matches this weekend which will shape the minor premiership battle, so check out our ‘Matchday 20’ preview and A-League betting tips below.

A-League Round 20 Betting Tips
Brisbane Roar vs Western United
Saturday 26th March, 5.05pm (AEDT)
Buoyed by a win over fellow battlers Perth Glory, Brisbane took it right up to a second-string Melbourne City midweek, narrowly going down 1-2 at home.
Another worthy opponent heads their way this weekend, Western United look to snap their three-game winless run. They have been far from awful during this period but will want to stay in touch with City by winning here.
United have the historical advantage here, with 5 wins from 7 clashes with the Roar.
Playing away from home hasn’t been an issue either – two of those victories have come in Queensland.
As such, I’m going for United here.
Macarthur vs Melbourne City
Saturday 26th March, 7.45pm (AEDT)
Macarthur have only won one of their last five matches, casting doubt over their finals chances. They sit fourth on the table, but the likes of Sydney FC, Melbourne Victory and Wellington and breathing down their necks.
The last thing they would probably want then, is to play the ladder leaders in a high stakes Saturday night special.
City have not been perfect as of late but their ability to extract results while rotating players is a marvel considering the times we live in.
Macarthur is a step up from Brisbane though and the loss of key personnel to Socceroos duty will surely be more telling for City in this one.
I’ll have Macarthur as an outsider here.
Melbourne Victory vs Western Sydney Wanderers
Sunday 27th March, 7.05pm (AEDT)
Melbourne Victory are heavy favourites to down the inconsistency Wanderers on their home turf to finish the round.
The original Melbourne club have not lost in their last five, however Western Sydney hold the head-to-head advantage having beaten the Victory in four of their last five encounters.
Melbourne love playing at home though, and the Wanderers have hardly been convincing since their dramatic derby win a few weeks ago.
With finals on the line, expect Victory to rise to the occasion here.
