It was a monster day for Before You Bet NBA followers on Thursday as we hit on 5/6 bets for a big profit. We’ll be looking to carry on the momentum this Saturday as we take a look at some of the key matchups in the 10 game slate and give our betting tips below.
NBA Saturday Betting Tips
Milwaukee Bucks at New Orleans Pelicans
11.30am (AEDT)
The Bucks have started the season in strong fashion, maintaining an 11-6 record through their opening 17 games. They have been pretty poor against the spread though, going just 8-9 and 3-5 on the road, which is where they’ll be on Saturday as they travel to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans.
The Bucks have a completely clean bill of health at the moment, with no one even listed as questionable for Saturday’s clash. The same can almost be said for the Pelicans, who could be at full strength on Saturday, with only Lonzo Ball currently in doubt. The Pels have one of the worst records in the league at 6-10 and are just 2-4 against the spread at home.
The Bucks start as 6.5 point favourites here but we are opting to back the over instead of a match result. The over has hit in 10 of the 16 Pelicans games so far and at their home games, the over has hit in 5 of 6 games. Back the over here.
Philadelphia 76ers at Minnesota Timberwolves
12.00pm (AEDT)
The 76ers have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 13-6 on the season and they have been pretty poor on the road, going just 3-5 away from Philadelphia and just 2-5-1 against the spread in those games. They’’ be in Minnesota for their clash on Saturday against what has been a deplorable Timberwolves side so far this season.
Without their star centre Karl-Anthony Towns for the majority of the season so far, the Wolves have the worst record in the Western Conference at just 4-13 and are just 7-10 against the spread. They will start 7.5 point underdogs here, which seems a bit low given they have lost their last two games by an average margin of 17 points.
Hard to look past the 76ers here, even on the road where they have been a little below average this season. Towns remains on the sidelines with COVID-19 while the Wolves other star player, D’Angelo Russel is also listed as questionable for the clash with a quad strain. The 76ers battled through a bout of COVID that ravaged their team but they seem to be back healthy now and have won four of their last five.
Los Angeles Clippers at Orlando Magic
12.00pm (AEDT)
The Clippers have had a strong start to the season, racking up a 14-5 record while going 10-8 against the spread. They won seven straight games before suffering a loss to the Hawks on Wednesday before bouncing back with a solid win over the Heat on the road on Friday. They were without both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in the win and the two stars will likely remain out for the game against the Magic.
Orlando have an 8-11 record to start the season and have gone 9-10 against the spread. They’ll be thankful to get the Clippers on the second night of a back to back here with the added benefit of George and Leonard on the sidelines. Outside of Markelle Fultz, the Magic will have a clean bill of health for the clash.
Like the value of the Magic at home here. they have lost three of their last four games but this clash against the Clippers comes at a really opportune time. The already ravaged Clippers side without their two best players will be tired after a gruelling win over Miami on Friday, back the Magic to get the job done at home.
