NBL Round 13 Betting Tips
Brisbane Bullets vs NZ Breakers
Friday, 7:30pm AEDT
The Bullets secured a great win last time out against the Kings, which keeps them among the teams fighting it out for the third and fourth spot in the finals. Young gun Will Magnay was huge against Andrew Bogut and the Kings, posting 23 points and 14 rebounds in a breakout performance that’s sure to have NBA scouts talking.
The Breakers were winners in both of their Round 12 games, which gives them a fighting chance of making the top four. Scotty Hopson has been fantastic since returning from injury, adding a much-needed scoring punch to a stagnant offence. The Breakers are now 6-10 on the season and are only 1.5 games behind fourth.
This is a huge game for both teams and could play a big part in who makes the top four at the end of the season. For us, we’re keen to take the value on offer for the Breakers to win on the road. The Breakers are a much better team now with their squad healthy and should have equal opportunities to snag the win.
Sydney Kings vs Perth Wildcats
Saturday, 5:30pm AEDT
The Kings split their two games in Round 12 but remain clear on top of the ladder. They’ve been the best team all season and look to be the ones to beat in the playoffs. Casper Ware has been the constant threat on offence for the Kings and comes into this game averaging over 20 points and four assists a game.
The Wildcats have recovered from a rare form slump to win four of their last five games. They were disappointing losers last time out to United however, scoring just 74 points for the game, which is their lowest score all season. Despite the loss, the Wildcats remain in second spot on the ladder heading into Round 13.
This looms as the game of the round with the two best teams in the league going at it. These clubs have already met twice this season and the home side has won by 19 points both times. We do see this being a tighter margin but believe the trend will continue with the Kings coming out on top at home.
Melbourne United vs Brisbane Bullets
Sunday, 5pm AEDT
Melbourne United were losers in the opening game of Round 13, falling to the Taipans by two points in an exciting clash. They shot themselves in the foot early by scoring just nine points in the first quarter, which is their lowest first quarter score in franchise history. United are still in third spot on the ladder but have some work to do to secure a finals spot.
As mentioned above, Will Magnay led the Bullets to a big win over the Kings in Round 12, which was easily their best win of the season. However, this clash against Melbourne will be their second game in three days, which is sure to limit their ability to play intense defence over 40 minutes.
Melbourne United may be coming off a loss in their first game of the round, but that was against a better opposition than they’ll be facing here in the Bullets. We have United making light work of this game and winning by double figures at home.
Melbourne United -6.5
