Top flight soccer continues this weekend with Matchday 29 of the German Bundesliga. We nailed all three of our bets last weekend and are confident we can keep the good times rolling! Bundesliga Matchday 29
SC Freiburg vs Bayer Leverkusen

SC Freiburg entered the long break in a decent position to qualify for the Europa League at season’s end, but their form in their three games back has certainly been nothing special (0-2-1). They looked more like themselves in their midweek clash against Frankfurt when they led 3-1 with 15 minutes remaining; however, two late goals meant they had to settle for just the one point.
It certainly didn’t take long for Bayer Leverkusen to hit their straps after the long break. They reeled off two huge wins on the road to momentarily climb into third spot in the standings, although a slip up midweek against Wolfsburg means they enter Matchday 29 in fifth place. There’s still plenty to play for if you’re a Bayer player with a top four finish and Champions League qualification being a huge motivating factor.
SC Freiburg have shown over the course of the season that they’re certainly a danger to top sides when they’re on song, however, the way they’ve played in their three games has been far from their best. Simply, Bayer are the better of the two clubs and with everything in play at the moment, we expect them to get the job done at decent odds.
Wolfsburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Wolfsburg got the job done in a tight first game back against Augsburg before succumbing to perennial title contenders in Borussia Dortmund in their second game post-hiatus. Their third start since the break was their best however, when they defeated the in-form Bayer Leverkusen by four goals to one on the road. This huge victory saw Wolfsburg go three points clear of the seventh-placed Hoffenheim.
Eintracht Frankfurt took a beating in each of their first two games since play resumed and it looked like it was going to be three thumping’s in a row when they were down 3-1 in the 75th minute against Freiburg. However, they banged in two late goals to salvage a much-needed point that keeps them two points clear of the relegation zone.
Wolfsburg have been able to navigate a tough three-game run post-break to come out with six points from a possible nine, which is about as good as they could’ve hoped for. They’re now in the box seat to clinch a Europa League spot at season’s end as long as they can sustain this solid form for the remaining games. We don’t see any reason why they won’t continue on their current path and record another big win this weekend.
SC Paderborn 07 vs Borussia Dortmund

Not much has gone right for SC Paderborn 07 this season and if things don’t turn quickly it looks as though they’ll be playing in the 2s next campaign. They’ve only secured maximum points in four of their 28 fixtures this season and probably need to win at least four of their remaining six games to stay above water.
Borussia Dortmund come into this off a heartbreaking midweek loss to Bayern Munich. It was a match that could’ve gone either way, but unfortunately for Dortmund, it wasn’t their day and now it looks like it won’t be their season either. Despite the loss, they’ve been in some good form post-break and look destined for another runners-up finish.
Paderborn have been in OK form in their three matches since play resumed (0-3-0), but Borussia Dortmund a simply a class above here. We expect them to negotiate a pretty straightforward win regardless of the current circumstances.
