2018-19 EPL: Week 16 Preview & Betting Tips

December 6th 2018, 12:32pm, By: SundayLeagueShark

Disappointing round in EPL betting tips in the mid-week slate as we lost on two bets and pushed on the third. We’ll look to bounce back this weekend as we takea a look at some of the key games in Week 15, which is headlined by a monster clash between Manchester City and Chelsea on Sunday morning.

EPL Week 16 Betting Tips

Bournemouth vs Liverpool (Saturday 11.30pm AEDT)

Bournemouth secured a good home 2-1 win against Huddersfield Town in the mid-week clash and with the win, moved to 7th on the table. The road gets a little tougher for the Cherries now, however, with games against Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United in their next five. They will be happy with their start to the season though, which has included good wins over the likes of Leicester and Crystal Palace.

Alongside Manchester City, Liverpool remain the only undefeated side in the Premier League. They currently sit second on the table with a 12-3-0 record and captured a good 3-1 win away from home against Burnley on Thursday morning. The Reds have won their last four games in a row and have a 6-2-0 record away from home this season.

Bournemouth have lost four of their six Premier League games against Liverpool, winning just one in the process. Liverpool’s only defeat in 13 previous matches in all competitions against Bournemouth game back in December of 2016. Bournemouth are in some decent form at the moment but we can’t see them taking points away from a red-hot Liverpool side, even at home.

Chelsea vs Manchester City (Sunday 4.30am AEDT)

The game of the round pits Chelsea against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday morning. Chelsea suffered a tough 2-1 loss away from home against Wolverhampton on Thursday morning. After a hot start to the season, the Blues have now won just one of their last four games and have dropped to fourth on the EPL table behind Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham.

Manchester City have been basically perfect in 2018 so far. They sit atop the EPL table with a 13-2-0 record and have only dropped points wo Wolverhampton and Liverpool away from home, which both ended in low scoring draws. Manchester City already boast big wins over Arsenal, Burnley, Tottenham, Manchester United and Bournemouth and will be looking to add another big scalp this weekend.

Chelsea have lost two of their last three home Premier League games against Manchester City after losing just two of their previous 18 against them. None of the last three games between the two sides have resulted in over three goals and the last two have both resulted in 1-0 wins to Manchester City. We think this one stays low scoring again.

Everton vs Watford (Tuesday 7am AEDT)

Week 16 of the EPL will be rounded out on Tuesday morning when Everton host Watford at Goodison Park from 7am. Everton will be disappointed with their results over the last two weeks. A 96th minute blunder by keeper Jordan Pickford handed Liverpool a 1-0 win in Week 14 before the Toffees could only muster a 1-1 draw with Newcastle in the mid-week round. Everton sit in 6th place on the EPL table and will want to start making a push for the top four, as they find themselves 8 points behind Chelsea and Arsenal.

Watford started the season in fantastic form, winning their first four games. Since, then, however, they have won just two of their next 11 games and currently sit 11th on the table with a 6-2-7 record. They have lost their last three games in a row and have taken just one point from their last five. Watford had the tough task of facing Manchester City in the mid-week round and will be on the road here in Week 16.

Everton have won 11 of their 12 home marches against Watford in all coemptions and after a tough home game against Manchester City, the Hornets wont fancy travelling to Everton on a short break here. We like the Toffees to take this one.
