2017 AFL: Daily Fantasy Tips for Round 7

May 5th 2017, 3:40pm, By: admin

AFL Fantasy

Welcome to our weekly AFL Daily Fantasy Tips, courtesy of our friends at Daily Fantasy Rankings - the new Australian Daily Fantasy hub.

Starting in Round 7, we’ll be giving you our thoughts on who might be some of the players to watch in the upcoming round of AFL Daily Fantasy. With a heap of money to be won on the likes of DraftStars and Moneyball, it’s best you get in on the action now while the concept is still relatively new to Australia!

This week, we’ll be creating a team for the massive 30k tournament on Draftstars this Saturday. It’s a $15 entry with standard AFL tournament rules. You can click to enter the $30K Sunday event right herewhile if you like to learn more about how it works, Daily Fantasy Rankings offer their handy guide - how to play AFL Daily Fantasy at Draftstars.

AFL Daily Fantasy Tips - Round 7

Fantasy Lineup

Site: Draftstars
Event: Sunday $30,000 Guaranteed
Fantasy Salary: $100,000
Buy-in: $15
Winner: $6,000

Defenders

Grant Birchall $10,900
Birchall returns to the Hawthorn line-up from injury this week after missing four games. The mid-sized half back has always had the ability to rack up disposals and at $10,900 on a Saturday where good defenders are hard to come by, we are backing him, and the Hawks in particular to get back on the right track here.

Darcy Gardiner $6,400
Young defender showed last week that he has the ability to read the ball extremely well, collecting 8 marks and 18 disposals on his way to a score of 71 against the Power. If he can manage anything around that mark as a $6,400 player we’ll be extremely happy.

Midfielders

Tom Rockliff $16,700
Picks himself here. With scores of 157, 124 and 100 in the last three and coming up against the easiest team to score against this week in the Sydney Swans, the Rock should have an absolute field day.

Tom Mitchell $16,350
Tough to pick out of Mitchell or Merret for the 2nd premium midfielder here and although Mitchell has arguably the harder team to score against in Melbourne, his last three scores of 125, 122 and 125 are undeniable. Has become a near lock every week in 2017.

Jaeger O’Meara $9,950
After a few poor outings, O’Meara has dropped to a price that is just too good to refuse. At under $10k, he’ll be a great POD and if he can perform like everyone knows he can, then he could be a game changer.

Zak Jones $11,500
While he has a tendancy to butcher the ball when he gets it, Zak Jones has been one of Sydney’s most prolific ball winners all year. With two scores over 90 in his last two games, he should provide a good showing here against Brisbane.

Forwards

Harley Balic $8,600
The youngster returned to the Freo side last week and produced an impressive 91 points. At just, he’s one of the only cheaper options in the forward line capable of scoring 100 which means we can spend money elsewhere.

Mitch Hannan $7,900
The Melbourne forward had a great outing last week, kicking three goals and laying three tackles in the Demons win over Essendon. Maybe some concern over needing to kick goals to score but should get his hands on the footy a bit more with the extra confidence boost of last week. At $7,900, one of the best lower priced prospects.

Ruck

Aaron Sandilands $11,400
Money restricted us from chasing the big name of the Saturday in Stefan Martin, but a good consolation is Sandilands. His opponent in Matthew Leuenberger is returning from injury this week and could be worse for wear. Sandilands at his best is always capable of a ton.
