AFL Daily Fantasy Team of the Week – Preliminary Finals

draftstars prelimsAdelaide vs Geelong (Friday 7.50pm AEST)

Hard for us to pick a clear-cut winner here, we think its going to be a close game so we’ve decided to go for a mixed team with four Crows and five Cats in the line-up. Charlie Cameron, Darcy Lang, Jake Kelly and Jake Kolodjashnij make up the forward and back line in what are essentially value picks so we can go big in the midfield. Lang had a massive game last weekend against the Swans, scoring 120 and Kolodjashnij could be good for a score above 80. Kelly is a consistent 70-90 scorer while Cameron is more inconsistent but capable of a massive score.

The midfield is where we have gone pretty expensive. We have the Adelaide combination of Matt Crouch and Hugh Greenwood, who both had good games against the Giants two weeks ago. Mitch Duncan and Joel Selwood from Geelong round out the midfield. Duncan had a monster score of 160 last weekend and while Selwood has been down on form lately, he is a big game player and capable of big scores due to his elite tackling. Zach Smith has become an elite scoring ruckman over the past few months with three scores over 90 in his last three games.

Richmond vs Greater Western Sydney (Saturday 4.45pm AEST)

draftstars prelimThe GWS midfield showed their colours last weekend and proved how they can absolutely dominate a game as a unit with Whitfield, Ward, Coniglio, Kelly and Shiel all scoring 98 points or more. We think they win this game and score well again so we’ve taken five GWS players here.

Brett Deledio and Rory Lobb make up the forward line but it will be in the ruck where Lobb will do all of his scoring. Had a great score of 90 last weekend as the sole ruckman and will get those duties again here. More of an emotional pick with Deledio, seems like the game is absolutely set up for him to have a big one against his old team.

Shane Edwards, Kane Lambert, Nick Vlastuin and Toby Nankervis are the rest of the Tigers players in the team. Lambert has been a consistent scorer all year and all had good games against the Cats two weeks ago, particularly Edwards.

Josh Kelly has been one of the fantasy stars of the AFL this season and we are happy to rely on him as our gun this weekend, he’ll be backed up by Matt de Boar in the midfield who we think has had a underrated season.
