2017-18 EPL: Week 13 Preview & Betting Tips

November 22nd 2017, 6:08pm, By: andyrosos

Another decent weekend for us in EPL betting tips as we hit on 2/4 bets with the winners both coming at odds of over $2. We’ll look to continue the momentum this weekend as we take a look at some of the key games in Week 13 English Premier League kicking off Saturday Morning.

EPL Week 13 Betting Tips

West Ham United vs Leicester City (Saturday 7am AEDT)

West Ham have now lost their last two matches and have only won two of their last 10 to find themselves in the relegation zone heading into Week 13. They sit one point behind West Brom and will be after a home win here in an attempt to steer clear of the bottom three. Leicester have bounced back after a slow start, picking up points in six of their last 10 matches and find themselves 12th on the table.

West Ha haven’t defeated Leicester in their last five Premier League meetings dating back to 2014. In that time they have only managed one draw. After we predicted them to be one of the big movers at the start of the season, West Ham have done the exact opposite, and their nine points through 12 games is their worst tally since the 2010-11 season, the year they were relegated.

They’ll welcome the return to Olympic Stadium here after a 2-0 loss at the hands of Watford last weekend but it should still be another tough game with Leicester in some good form. There’s some good value, and some safety in the Leicester (draw no bet) market, which we like here.

TIP: Leicester (draw no bet) - $1.89 at CrownBet

Newcastle vs Watford (Sunday 2am AEDT)

After a three game losing streak to some tough teams, Watford bounced back on the weekend to beat West Ham at home and will get another chance to enter themselves into the top seven mix with another win here. They currently sit just four points outside Burnley in 7th place with a 5-3-4 record through their 12 games. Themselves and Burnley have definitely been the surprise packets of the year so far and should continue to be competitive moving forward, especially at home.

Newcastle have lost their last three games to fall to 11th on the table after a decent start to the season but will be happy returning home after being decimated at Old Trafford last weekend. Newcastle hasn’t won a game since their 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on October 22nd so they will be desperate to get back on the winners list here.

The Magpies have lost just one of their last 12 meetings against Watford, having won 8 of those clashes. The one loss did come in the two teams last meeting, however, with the Hornets winning 2-1 back in September of 2015. Watford are the form side here and have a great away record so far this season, claiming 10 points through six road games. Back them to get a result here.

TIP: Watford (draw no bet) - $2.47 at Ladbrokes

Liverpool vs Chelsea (Sunday 4.30am AEDT)

The game of the round sees Liverpool hosting Chelsea in a massive clash for both teams fortunes this season. Liverpool sit just one point outside of the top four while Chelsea can can put some pressure on Manchester United in 2nd place with a win here. Liverpool secured a good 3-0 win at home over Southampton last weekend and will have the home ground advantage again against the Blues.

Chelsea were dominant over West Brom last weekend, winning 4-0 and getting back to their attacking ways with Hazard, Morata and Alonso all finding the back of the net. The form of Eden Hazard will be a big barometer for the Blues moving forward and if he continues to play well we could see them put pressure on Manchester City at the top of the table later in the season.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last five games against Chelsea, winning two of those clashes although both of those wins came at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea haven’t lost at Anfield since 2012 although the fixture has been a high scoring one recently. Both teams have scored in 11 of the teams last 12 clashes and with their offences finding form of late, we think this could be another high scorer.

TIP: Chelsea to win and both teams to score - $5.50 at Sportsbet

Huddersfield vs Manchester City (Monday 3am AEDT)

Manchester City are absolutely unstoppable at the moment. They are still yet to lose a game in any competition this season and an away game against Huddersfield here will seem no threat to them. Huddersfield, however, have been one of the more impressive home teams so far this year, taking it to some of the big clubs and losing just one match through their opening six at John Smith’s Stadium so far.

They were able to hold Man City to a goalless draw in the FA Cup last year, before losing the rematch 5-1. They also beat Manchester United 2-1 just a few weeks ago, proving their ability to match it with the best clubs in the league.

After all that, however, it’s still impossible to bet against Manchester City in their current form. Not only are they the best team in the EPL, they are likely the best team in the world and have been making a mockery of the Champions League group stages as well. Back them to win comfortably here.

TIP: Raheem Stirling to score and Manchester City to win - $2.80 at Sportsbet
