Manchester City vs Real Madrid (Wednesday 4.45am AEDT)
Real Madrid managed to pull off a tremendous victory in their second leg that saw them overcome a 2-0 deficit. Cristiano Ronaldo again proved his doubters wrong as the Portuguese superstar produced a hat trick for his team. They will be looking for more production out of their other attacking players Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale. Their form has carried into the La Liga as they defeated Getafe 5-1 and then recently Villareal 3-0.
Meanwhile Manchester City surprised a lot of people, as they were able to defeat Paris Saint Germain in a mouth-watering quarterfinal contest. The side has began to regain its confidence over the last month after struggling throughout the middle of the season. The side had a great start to the season and it seemed as if they would win the Premier League trophy with ease. However, injuries were forced upon the side to key players and they fell away and weren’t performing at their highest. The squad is now at full strength with Sergio Aguero regaining his goal scoring form and Kevin de Bruyne made a huge impact in their victory over Saint Germain and he earned the crucial goal.
These two sides have similar strengths and flaws as they have a lot to offer in attack but can often be caught out in the midfield and have the ability to make comical mistakes at the back. This could become a high scoring match if the deadlock is broken early on in the contest. Despite this match being played on Manchester City’s home soil, we will be backing the Spanish Giants Real Madrid to pick up a victory as their greater individual talent should prove the difference in this one.

Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich (Thursday 4.45am AEDT)
Atletico Madrid was able to defeat arguably the best team in the world over two matches to reach the semi-final stages. After losing a controversial first leg, they returned to their home soil and kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory. They defeated the side that won the treble last season. They are currently on a four game winning streak and are currently sitting on the same amount of points as Barcelona in the La Liga. They haven’t conceded a goal in their last three matches as their defence is holding strong whilst their goal scoring form is improving with Fernando Torress recapturing his form from a few years ago as he has scored five goals in his past five matches.
Meanwhile the German side was far from convincing in their quarterfinal match up against Benfica. They earned a 1-0 victory on home soil but a lot of experts were predicting them to take their game to another level in Portugal but they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw, however they were never really in danger of being eliminated from the tournament. They are comfortable leaders in the Bundesliga and their players are well rested for this contest. They will enter the match with a strong 3-0 victory against Schalke and a 2-0 win in the German Cup semi-final against Werde.
The German side are in their fifth consecutive semi-final appearance and they are an incredibly strong and experienced side. If they are able to hold their defence and prevent Atletico Madrid from producing a strong counterattack on the break than Bayern Munich will come out on top.
