Manchester United vs Manchester City (Saturday 9.30pm AEST)

The perfect start for at least one of the Manchester clubs will come to a conclusion this weekend. The two massive clubs will meet in a derby that has lived up to the hype over the last seven years. City and United were the two favourites heading into this season and the two sides have delivered so far as they have achieved the maximum competition points over the opening three games.

The two men up front are firing for their respective sides as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has netted three goals in his first season for United whilst Sergio Aguero has bagged three as well. The midfield is where this match could be won and lost and with Wayne Rooney playing well in his new role he could be the creative difference the home side will need. Paul Pogba was slowed down in difficult conditions at Hull but he will want to make a big impact in his first match against crosstown rivals.

City has been the more impressive side throughout the opening three games as they have been deadly in attack. However, the Red Devils have looked like a much-improved side at the back and we believe they will be able to sniff out the opportunities created as the side will end in a draw.

Arsenal vs Southampton (Sunday 12am AEST)

Gunners fans were finally able to celebrate in the 2016-17 EPL season as their side won their first match of the season. It may have taken longer than expected but it was better late than never as they were able to kick start their season. In a massive positive for the club, Alex Sanchez was able to find his feet as he bagged a double. The side still leaked a disappointing goal as their troubles at the back remain but they should be able to keep Southampton quiet, as they have managed just two goals in three games.

The Saints have been disappointing to start the year and are winless in their three matches. However, they are going through a transitional period as they again sold a lot of players during the offseason whilst they also have a new manager. It will take the side a while before they are playing at their best and Arsenal will be able to punish them this weekend.

Stoke City vs Tottenham (Sunday 12am AEST)

As we correctly predicted, Tottenham have had a relatively slow start to the season. However, in saying that, they have faced two tough opposition in Everton and Liverpool but if they are to be title contenders, they will need to be winning one of those matches as opposed to drawing both. The London club won’t have Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou available at their disposal this weekend but it does put the midfielders and attackers on notice that they better perform otherwise they could find themselves out of the starting line up.

Stoke City has been the most disappointing team to start the season and currently find themselves on the bottom of the table. They will need to bounce back soon but the task ahead of them against Tottenham seems like it will be too much. They were able to earn a 2-2 draw early in the season last year, which makes the Spurs ever harder to upset, as they will be aware. Managing just two goals in three games isn’t a positive sign as the Spurs have one of the better defences in the premier league.

TIP: Tottenham @ $1.75 with Ladbrokes

Liverpool vs Leicester City (Sunday 2.30am AEST)

The tough start to the 2016-17 EPL season for Liverpool and Leicester City continues this weekend as the two sides face off against each other. The defending champions were able to earn their first victory last week as they moved into the top half of the table. However, the side can feel hard down by as they were denied multiple penalty appeals against Arsenal. Jamie Vardy was able to open his scoring account for the season and he showed what he is capable of all of last season and whilst playing for England. He is a player that thrives on confidence and getting the monkey off his back will be a relief.

Liverpool were good without being brilliant against the Spurs but the side will be content with earning a draw on the road against their London rivals. The Reds still haven’t been able to repeat the 45-minute period earlier in the year that saw them put four goals past the Arsenal defence but it is still a good sign to know they are capable of it. The Reds are too inconsistent whilst the Foxes should be able to build on their performance from last week. However, the home field will allow the Reds to hold on for a draw in this one.

TIP: Draw @ $4.00 with William Hill
