This Saturday TopBetta are hosting one of the biggest betting tournaments in their history on Blue Diamond Stakes Day.
The tournament has a $200 buy-in with a massive amount of money up for grabs with TopBetta guaranteeing a $100,000 prize pool with first place guaranteed at $50,000!
TopBetta’s Jake Henson explained how this tournament is set to be their biggest ever.
“The Blue Diamond tournament on Saturday will equal the tournament we held on Derby Day as TopBetta’s biggest ever in terms of prize money with a $100,000 guarantee. The only difference is this Saturday is a $200 buy-in instead of the $1,100 buy-in we saw on Derby Day.”
“The tournament on Saturday will cover metro meetings in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and of course Melbourne for the Blue Diamond meeting. The nominations are great and it should be a huge day of racing,” said Henson.
You don’t need to be a racing whizz to participate in the tournament as it is for punters of all levels with the structure of the tournament allowing for different strategies to be used.
Each participant will begin the day with $10,000 BettaBucks which are used to bet on each race throughout the day in an attempt to build the largest bank roll and finish at the top of the leader board.
You can either load up your entire amount on the one race to earn a huge amount in one go or divide it up in an attempt to slowly build your BettaBucks bank.
After every race the tournament leader board will be updated to show your current standing and each competitor’s BettaBucks compared with your own.
This allows you to be able to adjust your strategy throughout the day so you know what bet is required for you to maximise your chances of winning.
The tournament always increases in excitement and becomes more interesting towards the end of the day as the leader has to decide whether he will sit at the top and not place any bets in the hope that those below can’t find a winner, or take a risk to maintain their advantage at the top.
The tournament currently has around 125 people registered in the tournament, which suggests that there could be a huge overlay.
TopBetta’s Henson provided some advice for the tournament suggesting the favourite should be backed in the main race.
