Sale Racing Club will host midweek racing in Victoria this week with an eight race program on offer. The maidens start us off at 1:05pm (AEDT) and we will have a play in that with an experienced favourite going around for Peter Gelagotis. The meeting is not the greatest with four maiden races starting us off but there are still winners to be found. The track should remain a Good4 and the weather is expected to be Fine.
Brendan Bunworth offers his best bets for Wednesday at Sale below, and be sure to head over to our Racing Tips page regularly as we offer our best bets for all the key meetings each week!

Sale Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 8th 2026
Race 1: No.1 Car Wash Maiden Plate 1732m - 1:05pm (AEDT)
(8) Good Harmony has had seven starts and is the most experienced runner in this field. She has drawn well in barrier 3 and that will benefit her after drawing wide in her past couple of starts. On those occasions she had to be taken back to near last and in this race I think she will settle closer. Has run on quite well her last couple and the extra 130m should suit.
(3) Corviglia will be fitter after his first up run at Ballarat where he finished 8th. Usually gets back and I expect he will be running on well again.
(4) Luxor Gold needs to show something here after two fair runs. Beau Mertens hops on and after a freshen up he needs to finish within four lengths of the winner to show improvement. Over the odds though at 12-1.
(8) Good Harmony WIN
$2.70 (2 units)
Race 5: Kress Robot Mowers Handicap 1006m - 3:25pm (AEDT)
(6) Choir Point won a Caulfield jumpout on March 25 and looks set for a good campaign. Trained from the Matt Laurie stable she is resuming after finishing 6th at Caulfield during the Spring. This field is obviously easier and he won first up last prep which is a positive. He has won over 1000m previously and Dan Stackhouse takes the ride.
(7) Freshen is also resuming and was 2nd in a barrier trial at Caulfield Heath on March 26. He led all of the way at Moe that day and from barrier 2 she should be able to push up and lead again or sit behind the leader.
(2) Harpalee goes well on Dry tracks and has had three jumpouts leading into this race. Likes this distance and has placed at Sale before.
(6) Choir Point WIN
$2.20 (3 units)
Race 7: Program Property Services Handicap 1415mm - 4:35pm (AEDT)
(5) Immerse led last start at Caulfield but tired late to finish 7th. Interestingly he is being stepped up to the 1400m and will want a slowly run race if he decides to go forward again. On March 6 he impressed at Flemington in a trial and he has raced in harder races than this previously. On October 11 he was well beaten at Caulfield behind Point Barrow in a Listed raced and this race is several lengths easier than that. Team McEvoy and Dan Stackhouse pair up.
(2) Blue Cowboy is resuming and he likes Dry tracks. He is a track&distance winner and he has won carrying high weights previously. The cowboy gets a 4kg claim here.
(3) Small Town Hero goes better on Soft tracks but is good enough to Place in this. He has finished in the top couple his last four starts including winning at his latest at this track.
(5) Immerse WIN
$4.00 (1 unit)
