It’s been nearly two decades since we’ve seen an AFL forward kick 100 goals in a season, but Jeremy Cameron is making us believe it’s possible again. With 75 majors to his name after 21 rounds, the Geelong spearhead is suddenly within reach of footy immortality. He’s in red-hot form, he’s got the green light from his coach, and the Cats are well on their way to finals. The big question: can Jezza actually pull it off?
Punters are getting in on the action too, with Ladbrokes now offering markets on whether Cameron will reach the 100-goal mark. You can back him to hit the ton in the home-and-away season alone at longer odds, or take the slightly shorter price for him to do it across the full season including finals. The odds have tightened in recent weeks after his 11-goal explosion against North, and with momentum building, interest from both fans and punters is ramping up fast.

The last few weeks have been massive. He tore North Melbourne to shreds with 11 goals in Round 19, then backed it up with six against Port Adelaide. That burst has catapulted him into rare air and firmly planted him at the top of the Coleman Medal race. Now he needs 25 goals from the last few games. Not impossible... but it’ll take some serious firepower.
Geelong’s final three games before finals are absolute layups. They’ve got Essendon at home this week—Cameron slotted six against them earlier in the year—then they hit the road to face Sydney at the SCG and Richmond at the MCG. If he can keep averaging five or more per game, and the Cats win a final or two, the ton is absolutely in play.
Round 22 vs Essendon (GMHBA) Cameron kicked 6.1 in their Round 14 meeting
Round 23 vs Sydney (SCG) Cameron kicked 2.0 in their last meeting (2024)
Round 24 vs Richmond (MCG) Cameron kicked 4.5 in their Round 17 meeting
Coach Chris Scott has already said the team’s on board, as long as they keep winning. And why wouldn’t they be? Cameron’s playing some of the best footy of his career and the crowd is starting to buzz every time he takes a mark inside 50. The last bloke to get there was Buddy in 2008. It doesn’t happen often. This could be one of those “I was there when...” moments.
So, will he get there? Honestly, it’s right on the edge. He probably needs at least four more games and a couple of big bags. But if anyone’s going to break the drought, it’s Cameron in this kind of form. Strap in, Cats fans—it’s going to be fun to watch.
