The top 4 Raiders will need to get back to their winning ways this weekend if they want to stay inside the top 4, as they host the Gold Coast Titans in our Nation’s Capital. The Titans will be full of confidence after their big come-from-behind win over the Knights in round 10. An interesting matchup awaits here.

Match Preview
The Raiders were looking like claiming another big scalp last weekend, as they led the Bulldogs 20-0 at halftime. Stephen Crichton had other ideas, as he came out and tore the Raiders’ left edge defence to shreds, scoring a try and setting up two more in the space of 7 minutes, as the Bulldogs punished the Raiders in the second half with 32 unanswered points. It will be fascinating to see this week if the Raiders can turn this around, or if that 40 minutes last week ends up defining their season.
The Titans were the opposite last week, as they were the side trailing 20-0. A Phillip Sami try before halftime proved the catalyst for the Titans, as they didn’t allow another point for the home side, eventually beating the Knights 24-20, the Titans’ first win since round 4, over a month ago. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui led from the front, running for 244 metres, making 39 tackles, popping 4 offloads and creating two-line breaks. With Jayden Campbell also having a nice game, the big names at the Titans are starting to warm into the season.
These teams already met earlier in the year, back in round 7 at Cbus Super Stadium, where the Raiders closed 7.5-point favourites, with a total of 48.5. The Titans shot out of the gate, leading 16-0 after 21 minutes, but it was all Canberra from then on, running home 30-20 winners. Hudson Young was immense, scoring two tries for the visitors and running for nearly 200 metres.
This week, the Raiders opened 9.5-point favourites at home, with Raiders money coming in to push the number to 10.5 at some books. I make the Raiders north of this number and see some terrific value in the home side here. I’m not really sure how the teams are rated as closer now than they were in round 7, given the Raiders form since round 7. The Raiders are definitely the side here.
Looking towards the total, and it opened 49.5 and hasn’t moved. Again, I see decent value in the over here, and will look to put it in the SGM below, whilst also betting it myself. Whilst I like the total and spread, the spread is the better value in my opinion.

Leg 1: Over 48.5 Points – See above, total is outlined.
Leg 2: X Savage (1+ try) – Savage has looked much improved this season and has also scored five tries in nine games. With the Titans’ edges leaking all season, expect the wingers of the Raiders to get a try.
Leg 3: B Fermor (1+ try) – Could be picked for the Maroons on Sunday afternoon, Fermor continues to impress on the edge for the Titans. Loves a meat pie and will be in the mix again this week.
SGM Odds: $8.50 at BoomBet
