Harness Racing Tips: Gloucester Park - Tuesday, June 4th
Race 2 – 7:50pm AEST
Heats of the Pearl Classic and a small field of six runners. Prepared to forgive (2) Jaxon Jones after a big defeat last time. Prior to that, the 2YO gelding was a back-to-back winner, including victory over Jaspervellabeach and Major Martini at Bunbury. Both were good scalps. There doesn’t appear to be much pace on paper which will allow Jaxon Jones to dictate in the lead. (3) Aristocratic Star and (4) Valentines Brook are the obvious dangers in the race with both looking capable of winning. The other three horses don’t look good enough at this time of their careers to be beating the leading trio.

Race 6 – 9:45pm AEST
A competitive Level 9 race and I like the inside horse (1) Lot Twenty One. He is the most likely leader in the race and the last time he led, he finished sixth behind Back To The Beach and Caviar Star in 1:53.7 for the 1730m. The Debra Lewis stable is on fire at the moment and Jocelyn Young will look to take advantage of that fact by leading throughout. (2) Lincs Tiger and (4) Highroller Joe may have a crack for the lead also, but I think Lot Twenty One can hold up. Lot Twenty One ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to sectional times and boasts the quickest last 1200m and third-quickest last 800m; he is only 0.2 seconds off Midnight Man who has a horror draw to contend with.

Race 7 – 10:10pm AEST
Expecting either (1) Delightful Shadow or (2) Arose For Me to lead and (7) Aly Shar to race outside of the leader. (5) Sleekn Styx or (6) Bettors Angel will be looking to grab the one-one. There are certainly a number of winning contenders in this Level 6 contest. I am going to back two runners here; the first is Aly Shar who is a 3YO filly and has the most upside in the race. She faced the breeze last time and was narrowly beaten. Before that she was held up and then a winner three starts ago. Bettors Angel has been running second or fourth at her last four starts and she is ticking along nicely. (12) Bettor Pack It is one of the keys chances but not too enthused by her $4.20 quote.
