Another Friday night means another slate of Harness Racing betting tips courtesy of Trent Orwin! This week we take a look at the Gloucester Park race meet on Friday, the 22nd of February and give our best bets below!
Gloucester Park Harness Tips
Race 1
Two class horses clash in this Level 11 race and I am happy to take on both Bettor Aim and Herrick Roosevelt in the race. Naval Aviator won the Albany Cup (2683m) four starts ago. He hasn’t won since but has been placed at his past two starts. He was third behind Talktomeurmattjesty in a quick 55.7 last half and followed it up by running second to Bettor Aim. Naval Aviator trailed Bettor Aim in a slick 1:56.1 mile rate for the 2536m. He beat home Jimmy Mack which is good form and if he is able to lead, then it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that he could turn the tables on Bettor Aim. The $15 is worth a play to find out.
Race 2
The price continues to tumble in for Sweet N Fast, even as I write this preview. He is a classy four-year-old and looks too strong from barrier three, even though last-start winner Soho Chelsea has barrier one. Sweet N Fast could bully his way to the lead and they won’t catch him if that happens. Otherwise he can sit outside of Soho Chelsea or obtain cover and could prove too speedy for that horse. Regardless of the map, Sweet N Fast should have too much class on his side and make it four wins in a row.
Race 4
The Group 3 The Lewis Fillies & Mares Final (2130m) could be at the mercy of Our Major Mama after drawing barrier two and leading. I can’t write off Jasmin Amal who won three starts ago before a second behind Our Angel Of Harlem. She has always performed well in this grade and appeals on an each-way basis at $61 and $11. Barrier six is tricky and I don’t know whether Dylan Egerton-Green goes forward or back from the draw – most likely back. She has won from the 1 out 3 back position before and if Veiled Secret were to keep Our Major Mama honest, then Jasmin Amal could be finishing strongly in the final circuit.
Race 7
James Butt looks superior to his 11 rivals and should be able to make it back-to-back victories when he begins from barrier six in this 1730m race. He led and won by 11.7m last start and this is the same class as that win. He should have too much zip for Whoswhointhezoo who is the likely leader once again. James Butt has won three of his past four starts and his only defeat in that time was to Lord Willoughby who contests the free-for-all event tonight.
