Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday September 10th

September 8th 2022, 12:52pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Flemington Racing Tips

Group One racing returns to Flemington with the running of Makybe Diva Stakes on Saturday.

Gallopers will be racing on a predicted Soft 5 surface with the rail True for the entire circuit.

I’m Thunderstruck will start favourite in the big one but will have to come from behind to win in what is a quality race.

Brendan Bunworth takes you through his best bets for the key races on the card right here!

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday September 10th

Race 2

(13) Lyrical Lad is fitter than most of his rivals and does return to Flemington after a good win last start. If the pace is on his chances are even better and with some of his rivals looking for more distance, this race looks more than suitable considering he has been in the money 11 of 17 starts, including four of his last five. Jamie Mott takes the ride and will be keen to impress so he stays on if there is a listed race to race in over the Spring.

(14) Adelaide Ace ran a good fourth last start when beaten 2.5L. Her winning range is between 1500m and 1800m so the 1700m should be ideal.

(8) Zeyrek is fitter after an unplaced run first up and that wasn't over his pet distance.

(10) Sir Davy has won six of 14 starts and is in Victoria’s leading stable of Maher & Eustace.

(13) Lyrical Lad Win

$3.40 (2 Units)

Race 6

(3) Point Nepean is flying by all reports and Jamie Kah has decided to hop on top of this horse despite the strong stayer starting off his preparation. He is two from two on Soft ground and does like Flemington. He is on track to a Melbourne Cup start but has been training well at home for Robert Hickmott which has enhanced his favouritism. He is a winner over 2500m and we all know that he can run the distance out.

(4) Interpretation closed off his latest race nicely and will be one to watch late. He has had a jumpout in readiness for this and is a clear danger.

(8) Through Irish Eyes has been freshened for this and hasn't had much luck this preparation.

(9) Mohican Heights is on the quick back up for Chris Waller and didn't have much luck when sixth at the Valley last time.

(3) Point Nepean Win

$3.60 (2 Units)

Race 7

(6) Flying Mascot has won two of four starts over the 1400m and gets a good draw here (five). She is fitter for her recent Caulfield fifth where she was wide for the majority but from this draw she should settle round fourth with cover.

Flying Mascot beat the favourite last start which is our second selection in (5) Kissonallfourcheeks who has drawn poorly in 14. She is another who likes the distance but is coming over from the widest barrier too hard?

(10) Foxy Frida is very consistent and has to be included on the back of her strike rate. Damien Oliver takes the rides and she resumes. One to watch.

(11) Lady of Honour led and won last time but i feel she may get overrun over the last 200m in this race.

(6) Flying Mascot Win

$4.80 (2 Units)

Race 9

(1) Let’srollthedice is going to be juicy odds in this and may get the last crack at them if the colt gets a cosy run throughout from barrier one. He is untried on the Soft but has wins on the Good and Heavy so the track shouldn't be an issue. He has only had one start in five weeks but has had three jumpouts so is fit enough to win. He has had two starts over the 1400m and did win one of those. Worth a throw at the stumps this one.

(3) Tijuana is a gutsy type and when pressured can respond. He can miss the kick so will have to start better from barrier 11.

(4) Fast Witness was caught out wide last start and that was a forgive run. He is second up and will be fitter for this.

(11) Foujita San will go forward in this and will be tougher to the line than his previous start. His maiden victory at Sandown Lakeside was eye-catching and he does have talent.

(1) Let’srollthedice EW $14.00/4.20

$14.00/4.20 (1 Unit)
