Cranbourne Race 3
Think (12) Telegraph is a very interesting runner here first up for Price/Kent. Had one start in first prep, finishing a good 6th down the Flemington straight where he really picked up late for a nice debut. Reeled off some hot late sectionals there and he’ll take a heap of improvement coming into his 2nd preparation. Recent jumpout was very strong and I think he looks hard to beat in this field tonight.
Cranbourne Race 7
Good race this over 2060m and I’ve got a slight leaning to (3) Mahashakti who looks just about ready to win one now 4th up. He’s been building to a peak run this prep, running on very well last start behind Starcaster. He’s got a great record over this trip and we saw the best of him towards the end of his preps in recent times. He maps better than the other threat in Impecunious and I’m hoping that might be the difference here.
Cranbourne Race 9
(10) Bold Manner was a big winner first up, sitting wide the trip but still being too strong for them. The 2nd horse has won since and and I like him rising to 1400m here. Barrier 5 gives him plenty of options and he should be able to position himself up near the speed. He’s still lightly raced, having won two from three starts so there is still a heap of upside about him. The only query might be how wet the track is but with fine weather predicted I’m hoping we aren’t worse than a 6 at this stage and taking the chance that he can get through it.
