Caulfield hosts a ten race card on Saturday with the Thoroughbred Club Anniversary Vase being the highlight of the program. A few Melbourne Cup horses from 2025 return but it is Al Duca the current $4.50 favourite for the Freedmans. Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr have two horses in the race and we are keen on both.
Race one starts at 12:05pm (AEDT) and the track is predicted to be a Good4 on the day. There is a little bit of rain away but with strong winds forecast, the track should dry out.

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, April 11th 2026
Race 2: Wagstaff Group Handicap 1200m - 12:35pm (AEDT)
(12) King Tut from the Ciaron Maher stable looks a good chance in this after running on very well for 2nd at Lakeside last start over this distance. Before that run he won over the 1200m at Caulfield Heath on a Good4 and he should get those conditions again. He will be fitter again and he will be one of the best finishers down the outside again.
(2) Ka Ying Cheer settled handy from barrier 2 last start and won well at Caulfield (Good4) WIll be a few lengths in front of King Tut in the run and if they go slow he can win.
(6) Wolfy ran well on the Heavy last start for 4th at Flemington. Will be making his run with King Tut and he has won at Caulfield previously.
(12) King Tut WIN
$4.40 (1 unit)
Race 4: Sportsbet Up and Coming Stars Series FInal 1400m - 1:45pm (AEDT)
(13) Dirty Look drops 5.5kg in weight here after running well for 2nd at Lakeside last start. That was quite a decent midweek race and there was a big push for Gold Coast Belle that day who won well. On March 11 he raced on a Good4 and was strong late to win by a neck and he should be strong to the line again. Drawn a little wide in 10 but will likely make his sustained run down the outside anyway.
(9) Oyster Lane is a big chance if the track is Soft. Wasn’t beaten far last start at Ballarat and he is racing consistently without winning.
(3) Santana has drawn poorly in 13 but has been backed to win at his last three starts. He won for us last start at Lakeside after he settled 2nd but from the wide draw he might use up too much petrol if he settles there this time.
(13) Dirty Look WIN
$2.80 (2 units)
Race 8: Thoroughbred Club Anniversary Vase 1600m - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(12) Taken has drawn poorly in 14 and its going to take a Beau Mertens special for him to win but I’m still on. On March 28 at Flemington he was midfield before looking the winner but just missing (2nd) over the mile and with him staying over the same distance again he can produce if he doesn't get caught too wide. He has always finished in the top couple over the 1600m. He drew barrier 13 last time too which probably cost him the race but he is 1 from 1 for Mertens.
(9) Merrigold has more fitness than most of his rivals and he likes Dry ground. Won well at Caulfield last start and from barrier 12, Linda Meech may roll forward this time.
(6) On Display drops in class after fishing 5th behind Treasurethe moment last start at this track. He ran on quite well that day as he did in his previous start when 3rd at Flemington. They were both Group races. Stablemate of Taken.
(12) Taken WIN
$5.00 (2 units)
