Bendigo Racing Tips: Wednesday, May 14th 2025
Race 2: Budget Car and Truck Rental Maiden Plate - 1pm (AEST)
(1) Alvin is a consistent gelding who is ready to win now. He sat 2nd at Seymour on April 15 and battled away very well to finish in that position and then we can forgive last starts 6th when he had no luck. He settled back last start and it didn't work out but I expected connections will be wanting the horse to be ridden on pace again this start. Harry Coffey has been on top in 3 of his placings and takes the ride again. Over the distance for the first time but it looks as though he will handle it.
(3) Itwasonlyakiss has placed twice when beaten less than half a length so he is close to a win for the Paynes. His Kerang 3rd last start was also good but this is a tad harder.
(5) New Travels Fast was unplaced in his only run on the Good which is a slight query but he ran well last start at Seymour when settling on pace.
(1) Alvin WIN
$3.70 (1 unit)
Race 4: Workforce Extensions Maiden Plate - 2:10pm (AEST)
(5) Shamateur was impressive last start at this track when he ran on very well for 3rd beaten less than a length. The extra 100m here looks as though it will suit and he does know this track pretty well which might help. Is third up this prep and he would be 100 percent fit now. Easier race here compared to his first up assignment and if he settles better he should go close.
(6) Ortgian Girl resumes here for the Anthony&Sam Freedman stable and she may girl forward in this like she did at her first start at Cranbourne where she was beaten less than a length.
(3) Moaksun does go better on wetter ground but should be good enough to run top 3 in this. He has placed in half of his career starts and he ran on well for 2nd last time.
(5) Shamateur WIN
$4.00 (1 unit)
Race 7: Dunlop Pitson & Jenkins Civil Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)
(4) Narbold was a bit disappointing last start when 3rd at Lakeside on Dry ground but that was a harder race than this one. He got a bit tired over the last 100m so Waller has dropped him back to the 1500m. Barrier 3 is a good get and he should settle in around 3rd or 4th in the run. Fitter now but does go up 4kg because of an easier class race.
(2) Black Storm almost got the W at this track last start and he was very well supported on that occasion. He does go well on Dry ground but he hasn’t won in 15 months.
(7) Heff led and got tired late at Pakenham last start. Drops back 100m here and may try to lead all of the way again. Fourth run in and is fit
(4) Narbold WIN
$2.80 (2 units)
