AFL Daily Fantasy Lineup Tips: Round 12 Sunday
AFL Round 12 Sunday: Where to Attack?
St Kilda have continued with the trend this season of giving up points to defenders. They are top three for points conceded to attacking half backs, general defenders and the designated kickers. This is a dream setup for Melbourne who have been playing a style of game that racks up possessions across the back line as they setup their attack.
On the flip side, Melbourne have also been conceding points to back this year, particularly the designated kickers where they are giving up the second most in the league.
Turning our attention the other game, West Coast are quite obviously the team to attack and they have been giving up the most points in the league to key forwards and second most to general forwards. Geelong are actually giving up slightly more points to inside mids than the Eagles so that battle will be interesting.
Game Script – Geelong forwards, Geelong/St Kilda mids, Melbourne backs
AFL Sunday: Our Value Fantasy Picks
SUB WATCH - Jack Carroll ($6,000) was receiving rave reviews all preseason and has earned his first call up of the year after posting a massive 136 fantasy points in the VFL last week. The Saints have had opportunity in the midfield open up with Jack Macrae going down and Hugo Garcia being dropped, so he will have a chance at seeing some time on the inside. If he is the sub, there are alternative options to consider in Hugh Boxshall ($7,690) who is seeing 37% of the Saints centre bounces, or going up further in price to Tobie Travaglia ($8,010) who had a very good full game last week for 72 fantasy points.
Shannon Neale ($9,330) was a go-to play last week due to the Bulldogs struggles with opposition key forwards and he came through nicely with 5 goals and 89 fantasy points. His price has crept up as a result but this week he gets the best matchup in the league for his position with the Eagles giving up an absolutely ridiculous 9 points per game above league average over the last 10 games to key forwards.
AFL Sunday: Our Mid-Price Fantasy Picks
Caleb Windsor ($10,260) will fit nicely into Melbourne defender stacks as he floats back on the wing and gets involved in linking chains. We saw this on display last week where he was able to rack up 85 points in their matchup with the Swans where the backs and wingman saw plenty of uncontested football. This is arguably an even better matchup for that type of game.
Mattaes Phillipou ($10,620) is an option until his breakout game for the season finally hits, especially given the Saints current midfield as already noted above. He is eventually going get inside midfield time as was promised preseason, and we saw last year that 100+ point games are there when this happens. Higher risk, higher reward.
AFL Sunday: Our Premium Fantasy Picks
Jeremy Cameron ($14,170)... key forwards against West Coast. Lock and load this. Cameron is in form after back-to-back 100+ point games and this will be the easiest matchup of the three. Forward stacks from the Cats will be popular and Cameron will be the first picked for many of those.
Christian Salem ($14,200) should take advantage of all the stats that indicate half backs rack up the points against St Kilda. As noted above, Melbourne have been playing heavily through their backline this year and as a result, Salem is averaging 94 points per game and coming off a season high 139 last week.
Bailey Smith ($17,530)... there isn’t much to be said on this one. Smith is averaging a league high 120 fantasy points this year and comes into a game that is expected to be a 40+ point win in the betting markets. The Eagles have trouble stopping midfielders and Smith is loving both the contested and uncontested ball this season.
