Round 15 is in the books with Fremantle confirming their spot on top of the ladder as they defeated the Cats in a fantastic start to the season. The Hawks also landed a big win as the Suns continue to slide. The Blues are now 5-0 under caretaker coach Josh Fraser after a great win against the Giants, while the Roos are winning ugly but have moved into the Top 10 as they accounted for Richmond.

A cracking game between two genuine premiership contenders to kick off the round, with the Dockers overcoming some poor kicking early to record a tough win. Luke Jackson was outstanding and clearly the best with 28 disposals, 9 tackles, 25 hitouts, 6 clearances, 3 goals and a whopping 166 fantasy points! Andrew Brayshaw (35 disposals, 6 marks, 7 tackles) and Murphy Reid (27 disposals, 1 goal) will likely compete for the minor votes. Tanner Bruhn (26 disposals, 6 tackles) and Max Holmes (27 disposals) were best for the Cats.

Luke Jackson - 3
Andrew Brayshaw - 2
Murphy Reid - 1

Gold Coast 14.13.97 def by Hawthorn 17.11.113

The Suns are on the slide as the Hawks landed a big away win on Friday night. Jai Newcombe (31 disposals, 10 clearances, 2 goals) was superb, with good support from Will Day (21 disposals, 7 tackles, 1 goal), Josh Ward (27 disposals, 7 clearances), Connor Macdonald (21 disposals, 2 goals) and Dylan Moore (4 goals, 13 disposals). The Suns had a lot of good individual performances with Noah Anderson (43 disposals, 6 marks) leading the way. Ben Long (4 goals, 20 disposals, 6 marks), Mac Andrew (26 disposals, 11 marks) and Christian Petracca (31 disposals, 1 goal) might all be a chance for votes.

Jai Newcombe - 3
Noah Anderson - 2
Will Day - 0.5
Ben Long - 0.5

Adelaide 11.13.79 def Melbourne 9.8.62

Wayne Milera - 1
Josh Rachele - 1
Mark Keane - 1

GWS Giants 9.11.65 def by Carlton 12.16.88

The Blues remarkable resurgence continued under Josh Fraser as they stunned the Giants. Patrick Cripps (33 disposals, 7 clearances), Sam Walsh (34 disposals, 6 marks, 1 goal) and George Hewett (30 disposals, 9 marks, 1 goal) did most of the damage through the midfield. Finn Callaghan (31 disposals, 7 clearances) and Clayton Oliver (29 disposals) tried hard for the Giants.

Patrick Cripps - 3
Sam Walsh - 2
George Hewett - 1

Collingwood 11.12.78 def Port Adelaide 6.16.52

A good win for the Pies in wet conditions at the MCG. Jordan De Goey was sensational with 26 disposals, 8 marks and 3 goals and will contend for best afield with Nick Daicos (41 disposals, 9 clearances, 1 goal) who was typically prolific. Josh Daicos (30 disposals, 9 marks) and Steele Sidebottom (25 disposals, 7 marks) were next best. Jason Horne-Francis (30 disposals, 9 marks, 6 clearances) and Darcy Byrne-Jones (34 disposals, 10 marks) were good for the Power.

Jordan De Goey - 2.5
Nick Daicos - 2.5
Josh Daicos - 0.5
Jason Horne-Francis - 0.5

Richmond 6.12.48 def by North Melbourne 10.13.73

It was an ugly contest in perfect conditions at the MCG, but the Roos once again scrapped their way to a win. Caleb Daniel (40 disposals, 16 marks) mopped up everything at half-back with good support from Luke Parker (30 disposals, 11 marks). Harry Sheezel (31 disposals, 9 marks) was busy while Cooper Trembath (4 goals, 12 disposals, 9 hitouts) was a shining light in a low-scoring affair. Jayden Short (29 disposals) was the leading ball winner for the Tigers.

Caleb Daniel - 2.5
Cooper Trembath - 2.5
Luke Parker - 0.5
Harry Sheezel - 0.5

St Kilda 8.13.61 def by Western Bulldogs 12.11.83

It was an important win for the Dogs to finish the round as the Saints copped the loss and several key injuries. Marcus Bontempelli (34 disposals, 7 tackles, 13 clearances, 1 goal) should be in the Brownlow votes for the Dogs, with good support from Matthew Kennedy (28 disposals, 7 marks, 1 goal) and Bailey Dale (30 disposals, 6 marks). Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera had a huge day with 44 disposals, 1 goal and a massive 916 metres gained, but most of the touches were in the backline and not overly damaging. Hugo Garcia (36 disposals, 7 tackles, 8 clearances, 1 goal) and Marcus Windhager (34 disposals, 6 marks) were busy in the midfield.

Marcus Bontempelli - 3
Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - 2

Dabble

For those who need a refresher on how our Brownlow vote predictor system works, we assign 6 votes per game so that our total votes are the same as the official 3-2-1 system, however we break up those votes as we see fit across potentially more than three players. Some games are really tough to call which way the votes will go, so a better predictive model is to split performances and assign half points to each player where there is doubt. So for example if two players dominate and it's too hard to split their performance, they are given 2.5 votes each, with the remaining 1 vote given to another player(s). This will give us a predictive total closer to their true total, rather than guessing. We can then form a 'range' for each player (i.e. a min and max we think players can poll) with the thinking behind this that the variations from the half votes will even out over the long term.
