AFL Round 10 has been run and it was great to see some of the cellar dwellers get some wins on the board. West Coast finished on top for the first time for 2025 as they knocked off St Kilda, while North Melbourne landed their second win of the season against Richmond. However one of the upsets of the season saw Melbourne win on the road against the reigning premiers in Brisbane. At the other end, Collingwood remain on top of the ladder while the Bulldogs are shaping as one of the true contenders this season.

2025 AFL Brownlow Round 10 Overview
Again we take a look at current Brownlow favourite Nick Daicos who do we have a chance for for a vote in Round 10. However according to our latest Brownlow leaderboard, Daicos is currently sitting 12th and four votes behind our current leader who is Jordan Dawson who again polled in Round 10. Daicos can certainly run that gap down, but with a dozen players all with a few votes of each other, there's plenty of value to be found if you look outside the favourites.
Bailey Smith is again in the votes in Round 10, and has been the big shortener in Brownlow betting this season, but we only have Smith polling one three vote game this season as we think Jeremy Cameron pipped him this week. Others in the votes in Round 10 and climbing up the leaderboard include Noah Anderson, Tom Liberatore, Max Gawn, Tristan Xerri, Caleb Serong, Andrew Brayshaw, Chad Warner and Josh Daicos.

It was a scrappy contest but the Swans kicked clear in the last quarter for an important win. Two players were the difference with Isaac Heeney (38 disposals, 9 clearances, 2 goals) and Chad Warner (30 disposals, 2 goals) clearly the best players on ground. Justin McInerney (24 disposals, 1 goal) was also good for Sydney. Adam Cerra (34 disposals, 7 tackles) and Patrick Cripps (26 disposals, 7 tackles, 7 clearances, 2 goals) will fight it out for the minor Brownlow vote.

Chad Warner - 2
Adam Cerra - 0.5

Josh Daicos (29 disposals) was their leading ball winner, with Nick Daicos (28 disposals, 7 clearances) and Brayden Maynard (24 disposals) also important. Jordan Dawson (27 disposals, 9 marks, 8 tackles, 1 goal) was excellent and should be amongst the votes, while Izak Rankine (26 disposals, 1 goal) and Darcy Fogarty (4 goals, 11 disposals, 7 marks) also played their part for the Crows.
Josh Daicos - 3
Jordan Dawson - 2
Izak Rankine - 0.5
Nick Daicos - 0.5

The Cats thumped the Power to leave their season in trouble. Jeremy Cameron defied the slippery conditions to boot 7 goals from 16 disposals and 8 marks in a brilliant performance. Bailey Smith has been the big shortener in the Brownlow betting markets but he might only get the two votes here for his 30 disposals, 8 marks and 7 clearances. Oliver Dempsey (24 disposals, 2 goals), Gryan Miers (27 disposals, 6 marks) and Mark O’Connor (28 disposals, 11 marks) were also very good. Connor Rozee (32 disposals, 7 marks) and Ollie Wines (28 disposals, 11 marks, 6 tackles) tried hard for Port.

Rhylee West - 1
Ed Richards - 1
Tom Liberatore - 1
Richmond 11.8.74 def by North Melbourne 12.6.78
It was a desperate game between two of the bottom teams but North did enough to hold on for their second win of the season. It was a game of stoppages with Tristan Xerri (19 disposals, 12 tackles, 51 hitouts, 11 clearances) and Toby Nankervis (15 disposals, 13 tackles, 47 hitouts) producing big numbers but somewhat nullifying each other’s influence. Luke Davies-Uniacke (27 disposals, 7 clearances, 1 goal), Tom Powell (24 disposals, 6 tackles) and Colby McKercher (22 disposals, 10 tackles, 1 goal) all won the ball for North, while Cameron Zurhaar (4 goals, 9 disposals) hit the scoreboard. Tim Taranto (30 disposals, 10 clearances) and Jacob Hopper (27 disposals) were good for the Tigers. Tricky game for votes.
Tristan Xerri - 3
Luke Davies-Uniacke - 2
Toby Nankervis - 1
Brisbane 13.10.88 def by Melbourne 14.15.99
One of the upsets of the season as Melbourne travelled to the Gabba and knocked off the reigning premiers with a huge last quarter. Max Gawn enjoyed the late withdrawal of Oscar McInerney to amass 22 disposals, 7 marks, 46 hitouts and 8 clearances in another huge performance. Kysaiah Pickett (21 disposals, 2 goals), Trent Rivers (24 disposals, 1 goal), Christian Petracca (31 disposals, 9 clearances) and Jake Melksham (4 goals, 11 disposals, 7 marks) were all excellent in the win. The Lions players got big numbers but not the result with Lachie Neale (30 disposals, 6 marks, 6 clearances), Hugh McLuggage (28 disposals, 7 marks, 1 goal) and Will Ashcroft (30 disposals, 6 clearances) all busy.

Brady Hough was moved into the midfield and did well with 24 disposals, 6 marks and a goal to be their best, while Harley Reid (15 disposals, 6 marks, 2 goals) flashed his brilliance. The best players on the ground were arguably with the Saints as Jack Higgins kicked 5 goals from 12 disposals, while Rowan Marshall (27 disposals, 8 marks, 40 hitouts, 1 goal) and Jack Sinclair (38 disposals, 7 marks, 6 clearances) were enormous.
Rowan Marshall - 3

For those who need a refresher on how our Brownlow vote predictor system works, we assign 6 votes per game so that our total votes are the same as the official 3-2-1 system, however we break up those votes as we see fit across potentially more than three players. Some games are really tough to call which way the votes will go, so a better predictive model is to split performances and assign half points to each player where there is doubt. So for example if two players dominate and it's too hard to split their performance, they are given 2.5 votes each, with the remaining 1 vote given to another player(s). This will give us a predictive total closer to their true total, rather than guessing. We can then form a 'range' for each player (i.e. a min and max we think players can poll) with the thinking behind this that the variations from the half votes will even out over the long term.
