2019 AFL Brownlow Medal Votes Predictions Round 15

July 1st 2019, 8:32pm, By: Brownlow Bandit

The most comprehensive AFL Brownlow Medal coverage returns for 2019 as the “Brownlow Bandit” brings you game-by-game analysis every round of the season to help you with your betting on the 2019 Brownlow Medal.

Our Brownlow Medal predictions and rolling Brownlow Medal tracker allow you to keep an eye on the betting markets throughout the season to build a green book so that by the time the 2019 Brownlow Medal night rolls around we’re assured of a profit.

You’ll be able to stay up to date with our live 2019 Brownlow Medal leaderboard, while there will be links to every single round-by-round voting posted there.

For those who need a refresher on how our Brownlow voting system works, we assign 6 votes per game so that our total votes are the same as the official 3-2-1 system, however we break up those votes as we see fit across potentially more than three players. Some games are really tough to call which way the votes will go, so a better predictive model is to split performances and assign half points to each player where there is doubt. So for example if two players dominate and it's too hard to split their performance, they are given 2.5 votes each, with the remaining 1 vote given to another player(s). This will give us a predictive total closer to their true total, rather than guessing. We can then form a 'range' for each player (i.e. a min and max we think players can poll) with the thinking behind this that the variations from the half votes will even out over the long term.

If you intend on using our Brownlow votes to bet why not consider one of the best Australian sports betting sites which offer some great features for new customers. Essendon (12.5.77) def GWS (10.11.71)

The Bombers won in thrilling fashion on Thursday night to open Round 15. Midfielder Zach Merrett was best on for the winning side so will likely get the three votes here despite it being a close match. He had 28 touches in the win while Josh Kelly (28 disposals, 1 goal) and Stephen Congilio (33 disposals) were both impressive for the Giants. Adam Saad was also fantastic in the win with plenty of dash and creativity off half back.

3 – Zach Merrett
2 – Stephen Coniglio
0.5 – Josh Kelly
0.5 – Adam Saad

Geelong (14.12.96) def Adelaide (10.9.69)

Geelong was too good at home on Friday night against the Crows as they booted seven goals to three in the second half to claim a 27 point win. Tim Kelly was easily best on ground for the Cats and strengthens his case for the Brownlow Medal, racking up 33 disposals and 2 goals. Joel Selwood bounced back after a few slower weeks with 33 touches while Paul Seedsman was easily best on ground for the Crows with 28 touches and 2 goals. Should be a battle between Selwood and Seedsman for the minor votes here.

3 – Tim Kelly
1.5 – Joel Selwood
1.5 – Paul Seedsman

Hawthorn (9.17.71) def by West Coast (11.11.77)

The Hawks couldn’t capitalise on an abundance of chances in the wet on Saturday against the Eagles, kicking just 9.17 as they went down by six points at the MCG. The rain didn’t bother Eagles midfielder Luke Shuey, who was best on ground with 39 touches, 1 goal and 9 tackles in the win. Jack Darling was a massive focal point up forward for the Eagles, booting 5 goals in conditions that weren’t suited to tall forwards. Darling should pick up the two votes while Jaeger O’Meara and Andrew Gaff battle it out for the remaining vote. The pair had 71 touches between them.

3 – Luke Shuey
2 – Jack Darling
0.5 – Andrew Gaff
0.5 – Jaeger O’Meara

Sydney (14.9.93) def Gold Coast (7.9.51)

Jordan Dawson continued his impressive run of form for the Swans on Saturday in their 42 point win over the Suns at home. The midfielder had 28 touches at 82% efficiency and will likely battle it out for best on ground honours with teammate Luke Larker, who had 31 touches. Dane Rampe was a rock in defence with 24 touches and 6 marks while Josh P. Kennedy had 27 disposals and a goal.

2.5 – Jordan Dawson
2.5 – Luke Parker
0.5 – Josh P. Kennedy
0.5 – Dane Rampe

Collingwood (5.7.37) def by North Melbourne (11.15.81)

The Roos continued their hot run of form under new coach Rhyce Shaw with a shock 44 point win over the Pies on Saturday night. Jack Ziebell was dominant in the win, racking up 25 touches and booting 3 goals in what should be a three point performance. Ben Cunnington was as bullish as ever in the midfield with 37 possessions, 17 of them contested. Adam Treloar was the shining light for the Pies with 40 touches.

3 – Jack Ziebell
2 – Ben Cunnington
1 – Adam Treloar

Port Adelaide (5.11.41) def by Western Bulldogs (10.6.66)

After a season defining win last weekend against Geelong, the Power might have suffered a season defining loss this week at the hands of the Dogs at home. In torrential rain, the Dogs made the most of their chances to win the game by 25 points as their stars stood up. Josh Dunkley (29 disposals), Marcus Bontempelli (27 disposals) and Jack Macrae (36 disposals, 1 goal) were fantastic for the Dogs while Scott Lycett was the lone hand in the Power outfit with 21 touches and 42 hit-outs.

2.5 – Josh Dunkley
2.5 – Jack Macrae
0.5 – Marcus Bontempelli
0.5 – Scott Lycett

St Kilda (10.10.70) def by Richmond (16.7.103)

The Saints were competitive for three quarters against the Tigers in the annual Maddie’s Match but were ultimately overran as Richmond kicked seven goals to just two in the final term. Dustin Martin was back to his damaging best with 36 touches while youngster Sydney Stack set Marvel alight with four goals. Saints ruckman Rowan Marshall continued his impressive year with 19 touches, a goal and 33 hitouts and should pick up at least one vote.

2.5 – Dustin Martin
2.5 – Sydney Stack
1 – Rowan Marshall

Brisbane (15.17.107) def Melbourne (11.8.74)

The Lions claimed their second win in a row and moved to fifth on the AFL ladder as they defeated the Demons by 33 points on Sunday afternoon. Dayne Zorko was absolutely dominant in the win and should get nothing less than 3 votes here after racking up 31 touches and 3 goals. Lachie Neale was an able sidekick in the midfield with 38 touches while Clayton Oliver claimed best on ground honours in the losing side. Eric Hipwood was dominant in the 3rd quarter, kicking four goals and five for the match and could sneak into the votes.

3 – Dayne Zorko
2 – Lachie Neale
0.5 – Clayton Oliver
0.5 – Eric Hipwood

Fremantle (11.9.75) def by Carlton (11.13.79)

In arguably the best game of the season so far, the Blues came back from a 15 point deficit with just a few minutes to go in the final term to win in thrilling fashion. Marc Muphy had 34 touches and kicked the match-winning goal in the dying seconds and should lock up maximum votes. It gets a little tougher from there with Nat Fyfe (29 disposals), Ed Curnow (32 disposals) and Sam Walsh (30 disposals) all having great games.

3 – Marc Murphy
2 – Nat Fyfe
0.5 – Ed Curnow
0.5 – Sam Walsh
