2019 AFL Brownlow Medal Vote Predictions Round 7

May 7th 2019, 11:39am, By: Brownlow Bandit

The most comprehensive AFL Brownlow Medal coverage returns for 2019 as the “Brownlow Bandit” brings you game-by-game analysis every round of the season to help you with your betting on the 2019 Brownlow Medal.

Our Brownlow Medal predictions and rolling Brownlow Medal tracker allow you to keep an eye on the betting markets throughout the season to build a green book so that by the time the 2019 Brownlow Medal night rolls around we’re assured of a profit.

You’ll be able to stay up to date with our live 2019 Brownlow Medal leaderboard, while there will be links to every single round-by-round voting posted there.

For those who need a refresher on how our Brownlow voting system works, we assign 6 votes per game so that our total votes are the same as the official 3-2-1 system, however we break up those votes as we see fit across potentially more than three players. Some games are really tough to call which way the votes will go, so a better predictive model is to split performances and assign half points to each player where there is doubt. So for example if two players dominate and it's too hard to split their performance, they are given 2.5 votes each, with the remaining 1 vote given to another player(s). This will give us a predictive total closer to their true total, rather than guessing. We can then form a 'range' for each player (i.e. a min and max we think players can poll) with the thinking behind this that the variations from the half votes will even out over the long term.

If you intend on using our Brownlow votes to bet why not consider one of the best Australian sports betting sites which offer some great features for new customers. AFL Round 7 Brownlow Vote Predictions

Collingwood 15.18.108 def Port Adelaide 10.9.69

The Pies turned the Power out nice and early and were never challenged as they ran away comfortable victors. Scott Pendlebury was best-on-ground for the second week in a row with 36 disposals and 5 tackles. He was supported in the midfield by Adam Treloar (35 disposals, 1 goal), Tom Phillips (31 disposals, 8 marks) and Steele Sidebottom (29 disposals, 11 marks, 1 goal). Down back, Darcy Moore (21 disposals, 7 marks) and Jack Crisp (29 disposals, 10 marks) continued their stellar years why Jaidyn Stephenson hit the scoreboard with 4 goals from 14 touches. Travis Boak was best for the Power with 32 disposals and a goal.

Scott Pendlebury – 3
Adam Treloar – 1.5
Darcy Moore – 1.5

Betting Note: After consecutive best-on-ground performances, Scott Pendlebury is not the worst outside bet for a man who is in ominous form in a team that will win plenty of games this season. You can back Pendlebury to win the Brownlow at $34 at Pointsbet.

Melbourne 11.13.79 def Hawthorn 11.8.74

The Demons have kept their season alive with a gutsy five-point win over the Hawks. They won the contested ball with James Harmes (31 disposals, 5 tackles, 1 goal) and Clayton Oliver (30 disposals, 8 marks) getting the job done. Max Gawn was also dominant as he won 46 hitouts to go with 17 disposals. Liam Shiels (29 disposals, 1 goal) and Jack Gunston (20 disposals, 8 marks, 3 goals) were good for the Hawks but it wasn’t enough to get the chocolates!

James Harmes – 3
Clayton Oliver – 2
Jack Gunston – 1

GWS 18.6.114 def St.Kilda 10.10.70

The Giants were clinical as they easily accounted for the Saints in Canberra. Jeremy Cameron extended his lead in the race for the Coleman Medal with 6 goals from 15 disposals and 11 marks in another impressive performance. Zac Williams (30 disposals, 8 marks) and Nick Haynes (26 disposals, 9 marks) controlled half-back, while Tim Taranto (28 disposals, 1 goal) was best in the middle.

Jeremy Cameron – 3
Zac Williams – 1.5
Nick Haynes – 1.5

Brisbane 14.19.103 def Sydney 12.9.81

Dayne Zorko played his best game of the season as the Lions got the win over the Swans. Zorko picked up 29 disposals, 11 tackles and a goal, and was well supported by Lachie Neale (29 disposals), High McCluggage (24 disposals, 2 goals) and Mitch Robinson (22 disposals, 9 tackles, 1 goal). George Hewett (34 disposals, 6 tackles) and Josh Kennedy (31 disposals, 9 tackles, 1 goal) tried hard for the Swans, while Tom Papley kicked 4 majors from his 18 touches.

Dayne Zorko – 3
Hugh McCluggage – 2
George Hewett – 0.5
Tom Papley – 0.5

Western Bulldogs 15.9.99 def Richmond 7.10.52

An upset win for the Dogs with teenage sensation Aaron Naughton lighting up Marvel Stadium with 5 goals from 16 disposals and 14 marks including 9 contested. Marcus Bontempelli was equally as damaging with 27 disposals, 9 marks and 3 goals and it will be hard to separate them for best-on-ground. Josh Dunkley (35 disposals, 8 tackles) was much better back in the middle of the ground and Jack Macrae (36 disposals) also won plenty of ball.

Aaron Naughton – 2.5
Marcus Bontempelli – 2.5
Josh Dunkley – 1

West Coast 11.14.80 def Gold Coast 8.9.57

The Eagles were too strong for the Suns with the on-ballers typically prolific. Andrew Gaff (35 disposals, 10 marks, 6 tackles), Luke Shuey (31 disposals 8 tackles), Dom Sheed (32 disposals, 9 marks, 2 goals) and Elliott Yeo (28 disposals, 12 tackles, 1 goal) all winning plenty of leather. Jarrod Harbrow (30 disposals) and Jack Martin (29 disposals, 10 tackles) were very good for the visitors. This might be a tough game to decide on votes which could go a number of different ways.

Andrew Gaff – 2.5
Elliott Yeo – 2.5
Jarrod Harbrow – 0.5
Dom Sheed – 0.5

Carlton 8.14.62 def by North Melbourne 18.12.120

A woeful Carlton were walloped by the Kangaroos in a bottom-of-the-table clash. The Roos had winners everywhere, especially up forward where Ben Brown dominated for a half with 4 goals, and Cam Zurhaar won the Rising Star nomination for his 5 goals from 16 touches. Trent Dumont was in and under with 38 disposals while Shaun Higgins was all class with 37 disposals. Jack Ziebell also did an honourable job containing Patrick Cripps while also picking up 22 disposals, 7 tackles and a goal.

Trent Dumont – 3
Cam Zurhaar – 2
Shaun Higgins – 1

Geelong 13.8.86 def Essendon 7.12.54

Geelong were far too good for Essendon, even with an injury to star Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood sitting on the sidelines. Tim Kelly was excellent with 30 disposals and 2 goals, and he was well supported by Sam Menegola (28 disposals, 8 marks), Cam Guthrie (25 disposals, 9 tackles, 1 goal) and Gary Ablett (26 disposals, 2 goals). Dylan Shiel (33 disposals) and Zach Merrett (29 disposals) tried hard for the Bombers to no avail.

Tim Kelly – 3
Sam Menegola – 1.5
Gary Ablett – 1.5

Adelaide 7.9.51 def Fremantle 5.4.34

A horrible game that is best not spoken about. Matt Crouch had plenty of ball with 39 disposals, and he was well supported by Rory Sloane (33 disposals), Brad Crouch (31 disposals) and Rory Laird (32 disposals). For Freo, Nat Fyfe led from the front with 32 disposals and 8 tackles, while David Mundy (35 disposals) and Luke Ryan (34 disposals) also won plenty of ball. Shame no one could kick a goal!

Matt Crouch – 3
Nat Fyfe – 2
Rory Sloane - 1
