Horse Racing Tips: Monday, July 15th

July 15th 2019, 11:30am, By: Luke Krahe

Welcome to our horse racing preview and betting tips for racing on Monday, July 15th.

We start a new week of racing with meetings at Murtoa, Moruya and Cessnock today and Luke Krahe has provided his best bets of the day below.

Horse Racing Tips: Monday, July 15th

Murtoa Race 1 (Market)

There are a couple of first-starters that are a little worrying when backing around them here, notably (8) Hapaira from the Maher/Eustace yard and (11) Electric Miss from the Corstens stable. We are going with (1) Achieve Victory to start the day on a winning note, He is resuming after having three starts at his first prep, placed at his first two before stepping up to the mile last time at Group Two level and was outclassed in the Sandown Guineas. He drops back to a Murtoa maiden on return and although he may find the 1100m not as ideal as further, his class edge may lift him over the line late. He has not been seen at the Official trials but has jumped out well, drawn out he will be giving them a start but mowing them down late. Obviously if there is no money for the debutants I mentioned earlier, the confidence levels will be greater.

(1) Achieve Victory

$4.00

Moruya Race 2 (Market)

Once again, we are going with one that is resuming without an official trial. The key with (1) Acquittal is he has not missed a place in 3 previous fresh runs and loves it wet. All but two of his last five run s have been on rain affected round, the two that weren’t were a Highway and the $600K Country Championship last year. He is well drawn, obviously is dropping a stack in class and only has to carry the 61kg after the 4kg claim. He is likely to be a drifter on race-day so maybe wait until late in the betting.

(1) Acquittal

$2.60

Moruya Race 5 (Market)

(7) Revitup Rednut doesn’t have a lot of brilliance but you know he will keep coming in the straight. He was good when on the placegetters heels in a Highway Class 3 two starts back then was on the Heavy track again at Nowra last time and sat closer to the speed but was once again unable to get over the top. She has been very consistent over the last month in three starts, handles the wet well and most importantly, both her career wins have come at the track. (4) Burden Of Proof is another that has had her chances of late but has been consistent, any money for the former Victorian (3) No Emotion now with the locla yard should also be respected.

(7) Revitup Rednut

$3.00

Cessnock Race 5 (Market)

With the early scratching on Sunday of (9) Fashion Icon, it will give us a chance to see (13) Ellofarock again after a game effort up the road at Tamworth last start. She showed good speed to lead, kicked around the turn before tiring late. She looks well suited getting back in trip slightly, against her own age group and at a track where leaders can be very hard to run past. There is a little bit of speed in the race but she should be able to find the front or sit camped on them and kick nicely into the straight. (5) Hashtag Viking looks her main danger but he will be giving her a start and that’s no advantage around here. This is easier than his last start at Newcastle but he had every chance to break the duck and gets no favours with the 14 gate today.

(13) Ellofarock

$2.30

Cessnock Race 7 (Market)

(10) Two Ducks Artie has been up for an eternity it seems, already 12 runs this calendar year but his latest was one of his best performances. He found a lot of bother whilst over-racing at Newcastle in a much harder race, held-up before making ok ground into second at huge odds. The start prior to that he was outclassed at Tamorth and never got into the race and looks well suited back in this grade. Back on the good track looks a plus also. It might be worth having a saver on (8) Equiseta, she was only fair resuming but wasn’t suited the way the race was run, that was her first go out of maiden grade and she did place at her only other second-up run.

(13) Two Ducks Artie

$3.90
