Horse Racing Tips: Friday, June 19th
Pakenham Race 1 - (Market)
(4) Galaxy Turf has been unplaced at both of his career starts to date, he debuted here on the grass track in April. He was slowly away but moved up to race on eth speed, he was very plain in the run home and was beaten out of sight. He had a 5-week freshen-up and was given a try on the synthetic surface for the first time under race conditions, again unwanted in the betting starting huge odds. They elected to ride him back in the field this time and after copping a check early on, he made some ground in the straight although a little wayward. I love that he gets an extra furlong and hopefully will be ridden back again and come with one run, improvement is likely on a surface he seemed to handle well.
Pakenham Race 3 - (Market)
(3) Bladnoch is still a maiden after 7 starts, three runs this time in have shown improvement, especially when coming onto the synthetic surface. Last start at Ballarat he was very heavily supported late, the official Top Fluc was $8.50 and he SP’d around the $4.60 mark. He got well back in the run, raced tight for a 100 yards early in eth straight before stretching out nicely on the run home. He got into second late and although he was well beaten, I liked the way he ran through the line. He gets out to the mile for the first time which looks suitable, a cheap run is on the cards also from the good draw.
