Horse Racing Tips: Friday, July 24th
Tamworth Race 1 - (Market)
(5) Sapphires Son is still a maiden after 9 career starts, he looks to have come back well off a 21-week break. He was at Scone a fortnight ago and sat three-wide with cover, tracked up nicely before getting held-up early in the straight. He got into the clear and made some ground late, stepping up to the 1200m looks ideal. He is likely to be giving them a start again, but the speed looks to be good enough on paper. He runs into (3) Dancing Dollar again here who beat him home at Scone and admittedly was a better run. She was favourite that day and did run past our pick, but back on a smaller track here and Sapphires Son should be in front of him in the run. From barrier 13 around here on a get-back horse, I want to be betting around the 5/4 chance.
(5) Sapphires Son E/W

Tamworth Race 3 - (Market)
(4) If You Think So was poor on the heavy track two starts back at Port Macquarie, a heavy 8 there can feel like a heavy 14 elsewhere. She then went to Muswellbrook and got a better surface, upgrading to a soft 5. She led, kicked hard into the straight before getting run down over the last few strides. She comes back in trip slightly which looks to suit after not quite running out the 1450m last time, draws beautifully and if she jumps well, the jock should have all the options early. I am hoping she tries to lead (without getting in a battle) as the one horse I am most wary of is drawn off the track and likely to be posted. (1) Essoess is that horse, he is drawn 17 and gets the blinkers back on and Bullock takes the ride, just hard to see him getting an economical run.
(4) If You Think So

Swan Hill Race 1 - (Market)
(5) Giottino is a very interesting runner that has changed stables, he was formerly with the Snowden yard and has had a year off since transferring stables to the Cameron stable at Flemington. He was a former import that didn’t do much in three starts for the old yard, I like the way he jumped out recently at Flemington. He was fairly away before showing good speed, a replay of that jump-out can be found here. He has been gelded and gets a few gear changes, watch for the money to come for him.
Swan Hill Race 3 - (Market)
(4) Legend Of Zorro isn't far off that first win, he has placed at his last two including a good effort in a harder maiden in town last time. AT Wangaratta two back, he looked to have every chance but was a little one-paced in the run home over the shorter trip. He then went to the Valley and settled mid-field again, angled wide and just found one better. He was very strong through the line and looks suited at the mile, back on a better track and the inside draw, he will only need even luck. The big straight here should ensure he gets a crack at them at some stage. (1) Bladnoch will start near the top of the market, he has been racing well but has to transfer that synthetic track form to the grass, leave me out of him.
(4) Legend Of Zorro
