Horse Racing Tips: Friday, July 10th

July 9th 2020, 7:45pm, By: Luke Krahe

Welcome to our horse racing preview and betting tips for racing on Thursday, July 9th.

Great day of racing come at you this Friday, the 10th of July and Luke Krahe has you covered with a preview and betting tips for some of his favourite races of the day. Today Luke focuses in on Pakenham and Scone meets.

Horse Racing Tips: Friday, July 10th

Pakenham Synthetic Race 1 - (Market)

(2) Loving Gracie is a debutant for local trainer Rachel Cunningham. She was trialed earlier in the year but sent back to the paddock, she was last seen in a jump-out at home on today’s synthetic surface. She was fairly away and accelerated nicely when asked. She was hardly “ridden out” for a comfortable win in what was a fast time for the day. She looks ready to go and clearly handles the surface well. (12) Stormborn will be well favoured resuming for the Hayes/Hayes/Dabernig team, she was competitive in harder races than this at her first prep. She was a recent jump-out winner at Flemington also but was ridden hard through the finish. I would really need to see a stack of money for her to be having her a chop-out.

(2) Loving Gracie

$5.00

Pakenham Synthetic Race 8 - (Market)

(8) Power Boom was a synthetic track winner when resuming, she then went to the Valley against the girls and chased solidly in a much harder race. Last time in town again at Caulfield, she got a mile out of her ground, again against her own sex but much tougher opposition than what she meets here. She was beaten almost 10 lengths which doesn’t look great in the form guide but there was a lot to like about the run. She was not suited the way the race panned out, seriously favouring those on the speed and she did beat more than half the field home. A huge drop in class and form on this surface, she looks beautifully placed.

(8) Power Boom

$4.20

Scone Race 1 - (Market)

(1) You Rang is a Gai/Bott trained filly that has placed at two of three, this looks the right race for her to break her maiden status. She resumed at Kembla two weeks ago on a soft 6 surface, she opened up close to flip-of-the-coin odds but was a drifter to an SP of $2.80. She led and kicked approaching the turn running the quickest 800m-400m split of the race, she layed in up the straight but just found a couple better on the day. The winner looked very smart, that was her debut and the second horse across the line came out and won at Kembla yesterday. If she lands on the bunny as expected, she will lead and win.

(1) You Rang

$2.30

Scone Race 3 - (Market)

(5) Farmer’s Friend was a maiden winner here at the track last start, he was perfectly ridden behind the speed before exploding away for a soft win. He was sent straight to the paddock and resumes today with the blinkers off for the first time. He has trialed well at home and can take the next step out of maiden grade at his first attempt. (1) Two Up will be contesting for the top spot in the betting, he comes through a good form race at Port last start in which he was good.  Coming off the heavy track back on top of the ground, I am happy to risk him.

Farmer's Friend

$2.60
