Racing returns to Caulfield on Saturday after what was a fantastic Flemington carnival for followers. It's C.F.Orr Stake Day (Group 1) and the 10 race program is full of horses looking to pick up one more city win before they go out for a spell. The Group 1 looks to be a beauty with Jimmysstar the current favourite but Angel Capital has run some blinders this campaign without must luck. The weather looks fine and the track is currently rated a Soft 7, but I reckon a Soft 5 ot 6 is on the cards.

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, November 15th 2025
Race 5: The Importer Summoned Stakes 1600m Group 3 - 2:35pm (AEDT)
(8) Pondalowie gets his last chance from me and then he is in the sack bin for life if he doesn’t run top 3. He was missing the start but running on very well this campaign but then connections decided to ride him upside down last start and lead on him but he faded to 7th on Champions Day. He has drawn well in barrier 2 and if he is ridden back, he can win at each-way odds. Before this campaign the stable was confident they could get a win over the mile with this guy.
(6) Lake Vostok is consistent and ran on very well to place for 3rd when we were on him last start at Flemington. He will want a Soft track and a fast run race.
(2) Molly Bloom probably gets her last chance in the Waller stable. We have been on her a few times this year for mixed results. She hasn’t won in a year and a half.
(8) Pondalowie Each-Way
$6.00/$1.95 (1 unit)
Race 7: Sportsbet Sandown Guineas 1600m Group 2 - 3:45pm (AEDT)
(12) Sheza Alibi is very consistent and has drawn the rails in this race. She had an inside barrier and won at Flemington last start and she should settle behind the leader in this one. Likes a Soft track which she should get here and the mile looks like it will suit.
(5) Tagline has drawn wide in 12 but has always run either a 1st or 2nd on Soft ground. He will get back in the run which is probably okay with the wide gate and he will be one of the best closers late.
(2) Burma Star ran on well to salute on Melbourne Cup Day and we were on. He will get right back again here but the Caulfield straight might be too short. Will want the track to remain Soft. Jamie Melham rides and barrier 3 is a good get.
(12) Sheza Alibi WIN
$1.75 (4 units)
Race 8: Sportsbet C.F. Orr Stakes GROUP 1 1400m - 4:25pm (AEDT)
(5) Angel Capital can win I reckon after an unlucky last two starts. He stormed home in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clake on September 20 and then he ran very well in the Group 1 Everest at Randwick. He will get back in the run again but I think Waller will be keen to snare another Group 1 win after a lean Spring by his standards. He will want a Soft5 to run on and may get that if the track dries out on the day. Goes well at Caulfield.
(2) Evaporate ran a good 3rd in the Group 1 Golden Eagle and he doesn’t care if the track is Good or Soft. The problem is that he doesn’t usually win at Caulfield.
(1) Jimmysstar won the Russell Balding and is a winner having won 10 from 22 starts. He runs well for Ethan Brown and is the deserved favourite.
(5) Angel Capital WIN
$3.40 (2 units)
