Sportsbetting about to Boom?

They’ve been teasing us for a few weeks but it appears that the re-brand of Australian sports site Sportsbetting.com.au is imminent. In their latest post to social media, Sportsbetting confirmed they will soon be known as BoomBet.

It was thought that a rebrand might occur for the locally owned Sportsbetting after pressure was placed on them by industry leader Sportsbet. Mid last year, Sportsbet filed a trademark infringement suit in the Federal Court, claiming that the Sportsbetting brand was too similar to their own with the prominent use of the words “sports” and “bet”. Sportsbet, owned by global gambling giant Flutter Entertainment, had previously prevented rival Crownbet from rebranding to Sportingbet back in 2018.

It appears that Sportsbetting have decided that a fresh lick of paint was the way forwards and as such BoomBet.com.au has been born along with the hashtag #GetInOnTheBoom
