Rabbitohs vs Knights Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 19 2026

Back to reality and punished for their mistakes

A dose of reality was delivered to the Rabbitohs last week in their 36-14 loss to the Panthers on the road. Having hopes of performing strongly, they were outclassed as the Panthers were a class above, especially when it came to making the Rabbitohs pay for their mistakes. After a tight first half where they trailed 12-10 at HT, they couldn’t match the intensity or execution of their opponents in the second half, conceding 4 tries before registering their own. Completing at just 77% with 49% possession hurt their cause also, as did running for just 8.8m per carry (Panthers 9.3m), allowing 648 PCM’s, conceding 6 line breaks, and missing 44 tackles. They are clinging to 8th spot on the competition ladder, but similar performances will lead to the same outcome, something which must be overturned if they wish to play in the Finals.

Gritty and determined

In a spirited 13-12 home victory over the Dolphins, the Knights solidified their standing in the Top 8. With both teams missing their Origin stars, the Knights almost gave up a 12-0 HT lead to their opponents. They were their own worst enemy completing at just 72% with 53% possession. They couldn’t score points despite averaging 8.9m per carry and making 618 PCM’s. While good in some areas, better teams will punish them for their mistakes. Such a performance with so many players missing is enough to give the entire squad the confidence needed heading into the business end of the season. Hopefully, they can keep everyone fit and firing.

Stats that matter

- The Knight have won the past 4 games against the Rabbitohs. Both teams also have a positive record at this ground (Rabbitohs 57% vs Knights 50%).

- These two teams played out a high scoring match in Round 9, with the Knights winning 42-38 against the fast-finishing Rabbitohs. Only twice has the margin of victory been fewer than 12 points, with the average sitting at 16.2. The average total points is also high at 54.6 points.

- Just like their Round 9 match, this game will likely be decided by the better attacking team. Both average 23ppg defensively, with the Rabbitohs having a slight edge in attack, scoring 28ppg compared to the Knights 26ppg.

Too close to call

A lot will depend on which players back up from State of Origin on Wednesday. At the time of writing, it appears as though Ponga, Best, and Murray will all feature. Taking that on face value, the odds of these two sides being close is accurate. That is somewhat underrating the Knights; they’ve been consistently better than the Rabbitohs in 2026 and they have recorded a victory over them already this season. The Rabbitohs are an improving team and other inclusions, like Graham on the wing and the shift of Duncan back to centre, makes them a stronger team. While perhaps still behind their opponents, it gives them a strong chance of causing an upset. One would think that the emotion of this game (Jai Arrow’s birthday celebration) will give the Rabbitohs a boost in a variety of areas; there is a slight lean towards the home team because of this. Rather than invest on this though, the preferred option is to select a close contest, with the game decided by fewer than 8 points.

Leg 1 = Total points over 48.5 points – see above for justification.

Leg 2 = Either team by 12.5 points or less – the safety blanket…just in case.

Leg 3 = Fifita to score – he is getting back to his best, damaging form. Fifita also loves playing against the Knights, recording 4 tries in his past 5 games against them. With a point still to prove, he should be motivated to achieve more of the same.

Scooby's strength is assessing the overall team - what they offer across the field in a match and how the ethos of a club contributes to their success. Momentum also has a major impact on sports, and Scooby likes to explore this, while underpinning his judgement against a solid basis of statistical analysis. When combined with the aforementioned points, it combines for a holistic approach towards betting on rugby league.

Other sports he enjoys include Cricket, Horse Racing and NFL. There is a reason why Scooby ‘clicked’ with BYB from Day 1 - he loves his sport as much as we do.
