Titans vs Rabbitohs Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 26 2026
Only playing for one half
Leading 16-8 at HT against the Sharks in front of their home fans, things were looking positive for the Titans and hopes were high that they could replicate that effort in the second half. Unfortunately, positive execution eluded them as they suffered a 30-22 loss. Despite completing at 84% with 47% possession, they managed 8.7m per carry and made 499 PCM’s. Their defence was poor though, missing 39 tackles and conceding 9 line breaks. While this happens, they will continue to be outplayed by better teams high than them on the ladder.
Consistently inconsistent (again)
It was another inconsistent performance from the Rabbitohs at home in their 45-26 loss to the Warriors. Another slow start saw them trail 26-8 at HT before they fought their way back into the match. Behind 32-26 with 20 minutes remaining, the result slipped away as their execution again declined. With 49% possession, they completed at just 77%, ran for 8.3m per carry and made 9 line breaks. There is no doubt that they can compete with the contending teams, but it is their ability to maintain this intensity which is continually letting them down over 80 minutes.
Stats that matter
- The Rabbitohs have won the past 10 games against the Titans, taking their record at this ground to 93%. The Titans win just 43% of games at home.
- In the past 5 games between these two sides, only one has been decided by fewer than 14 points. This has the average sitting at 19.6 points. They’re usually high scoring contests too; the average total is 51.6 points.
- The Rabbitohs are the superior team on both sides of the ball this season. They score 27ppg in attack compared to the Titans 19ppg. Defensively, things are closer, with the Rabbitohs allowing 24ppg just ahead of the Titans 27ppg.
Motivated by the Finals
It is a simple equation for the Rabbitohs in this contest: win, and your spot in the Finals is cemented in. This will carry huge ramifications as it releases the pressure that a rivalry next round will bring. Removing this emotion will serve their squad well as they push towards the Finals. The possibility that both Humphries and Mitchell will return is a huge boost for the visitors. The short turnaround into this game for the Titans will impact their fatigue levels. They faded away in the second half last week and are guilty of this throughout 2026. With their talent proven at different times, they can cause an upset but a lot would have to go right for that to occur. If the Rabbitohs are a serious contender or wish to be considered as that, this is a game that they must dominate and remove all doubt over the potential winner. Their edges can build on the strong platform set in the middle and, provided the ruck speed is to their liking, they can dictate the terms of the match. Their positive record against the Titans speaks for itself and they should build on that again with a win here.
