Broncos vs Storm Prediction & Tips: 2026 NRL Round 26
Showing the old ‘fight’
Heading to Canberra as outsiders, the Broncos had plenty of excuses to deliver another poor performance. Thankfully for the morale and direction of this club, they delivered the opposite as they powered to a 34-30 victory in a hostile environment. Overcoming a lack of possession (45%), they completed strongly (81%) to make 9.7m per carry and 5 line breaks. Their missed tackles (37) did give their opponents too many chances; conceding 30 points and 5 line breaks must be improved upon heading into next season. This aside, some of the efforts displayed by players highlights that positivity still exists within this team.
Outplayed but finished strong
The Storm were blown away by the Panthers in the first half last week at home, quickly finding themselves down 22-nil, a deficit which was carried into HT. Fighting back strongly, they ended the game with a 22-14 loss; they will take confidence in keeping their opponents scoreless in the second half. This was achieved by controlling possession (56%) and having a high completion rate (85%), managing the conditions positively. Making 8.2m per carry and having 601 PCM’s helped their cause but ultimately, a slow start cost them dearly.

Like it or not, it will change the fabric of this game and leaves a lot of uncertainty n the minds of punters who are considering parting way with their money.
Looking at the game factually, the return of Hughes at halfback for the Storm is a major boost. He offers stability but may be impacted by a lack of match fitness. The Broncos proved last week that they are still a capable team and are an unchanged team from that contest. Looking at the strength of each opponent they faced last week, it is hard to dislike the performance of the Storm. As spirited as the Broncos were, the standard set by the Raiders was poor; the visitors arguably should’ve won the contest by a greater margin. For this game, pressure is expected to be built by the visitors. Their greatest challenge will be nullifying the powerful Broncos pack of forward; there is a chance that they set a standard which the visitors cannot match. That component has been missing from majority of their matches this season. If this Storm can manage them in this area, of which they are capable, it is their game to lose.
