Sea Eagles vs Titans Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 12 2026
At their attacking best
The Sea Eagles made light work of the Tigers at Magic Round, cruising to a 48-18 victory with only two late tries adding respectability to their opponent’s total. They ran rampant in the first half, leading 24-8 at HT as they dominated majority of areas in the contest. It was always likely to occur as they had a 53% share of possession and completed at 80%. They averaged 10.7m per carry also, generating momentum for them to make 571 PCM’s and create 14 line breaks. Their attitude was strong defensively also, missing just 28 tackles and limiting their opponents to just 3 line breaks. It is a vastly different team to the one which started the season.
Void of an 80-minute performance
If the Titans could manage to produce a second half against the Knights like their first, they would’ve gone close to winning the match. Heading in HT locked at 6-all, the Titans would’ve been confident of achieving this. Unfortunately, they were outclassed in the second half and were eventually defeated 36-12. They were always going to struggle with just 49% possession and a horrendous 63% completion rate. This limited their effectiveness with the ball and saw them pressured defensively into missing a total of 32 tackles and conceded 7 line breaks. While there are positives, a lack of consistency is still their downfall and until that improves, they will remain in the bottom half of the ladder.
Stats that matter
- Despite having a 45% record at this ground, the Titans have won 5 of their past 7 here. The Sea Eagles have an overall home record of 62%.
- The past 5 games between these two sides have seen all but one margin of victory below 16 points. This takes the average margin to 18 points. They have been relatively high scoring matches, with the average points total sitting at 50 points.
- It is no surprise to see the Sea Eagles superior to the Titans on both sides of the ball this season. They average 30ppg in attack and allow just 19ppg defensively. The Titans struggling in attack with just 18ppg and leak 26ppg defensively.
Time to flex their muscle
With both teams missing key players to representative duty, the Sea Eagles still appear better placed to produce a strong performance against the Titans. Lacking consistency, the visitors look set to struggle further. Their heart in the middle of the field, Fa’asuamaleaui, their appear as though they will be weaker in the middle. This has already been an issue and minus their key forward, it is likely to get worse. The Sea Eagles are growing in confidence and appear to be getting better every week. This game should offer a fresh set of challenges but as it is one that they should win, they will be measured by the outcome of the match. Pick the winner on form and so far, there is little to suggest that the Titans are going to be capable of causing an upset. Just like recent weeks, once they get rolling, they will be difficult to stop and should be capable of covering the line.
