North Melbourne vs Gold Coast Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 11
Response Needed
The Kangaroos headed to Adelaide with plenty of optimism, but after conceding 10 unanswered goals in the second quarter, they were given a serious reality check. North Melbourne are now 0-5 against teams in the top thirteen, with all four of their wins this season coming against teams in the bottom five. The Roos were towelled up in a lot of key areas, recording -67 disposals, -28 disposals, -26 contested possessions, and -9 clearances. However the most alarming stat was that despite having significantly less possession, Adelaide recorded 31 more tackles than North Melbourne. If they dish up a performance like that against a side with the weapons that Gold Coast possess, it will be another ugly scoreline.
Top Four Contention
After losing three out of four games between Rounds 4-7, Gold Coast have won three games on the bounce to launch right back into the top four mix. The Suns have been excellent in their front half, ranking second in the league for inside 50’s which has led to them ranking fifth for points per game. If Gold Coast can get strong supply inside forward 50, they will be confident of putting up a big score against a vulnerable Roos defence. The Suns return to form has been led by their captain, with Noah Anderson recording 33, 31, 27 and 31 disposals in his last four games.
Recent Head to Head History
Gold Coast have won five of their last seven games against North Melbourne, and those five wins have been by comfortable margins. The five wins have come by margins of 52, 68, 43, 67 and 62 points.
Kangaroos or Suns? Here’s Our North Melbourne vs Gold Coast Tip
North Melbourne have shown that they are still a level below the best teams in the competition, and they are vulnerable against quality attacking sides. Gold Coast have scored 119+ points on four occasions this season, while the Roos have conceded scores of 133, 105, 135 and 105 points across their last four games.
Transition and turnover are the key areas that the Suns will get on top of North in this game. Gold Coast ranks third in the AFL for scores from turnover and the Roos have struggled defending turnover, conceding 66, 59, 83 and 59 points across their last four games. Gold Coast are third best team in the AFL at going from D50 to forward 50, and in perfect conditions under the roof, they will put up a big score against the Roos,
