Eels vs Storm Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 11 2026

Spirited and determined, the Eels are made of tough stuff

Not much is going right for the Eels at the moment. A mounting injury toll makes it a challenge each week and one that was compounded by a trip to Townsville to face the Cowboys. That appeared beyond them early on, but the resilient Eels were up for the fight. In the end, they prevailed 33-30 in a Golden Point thriller. Their execution was superb in setting up victory. With 55% possession, they completed at 91%, averaged 10.4m per carry, made 625 PCM’s, and had 7 line breaks. Despite missing 42 tackles, the foreign conditions in Townsville increased their fatigue, and they scrambled well to cover these. Despite being far from perfect, it’s a crucial victory that displayed plenty of positive qualities of a team rebuilding.

Finally, the Storm get a win

It was a long 7-game winless streak for the Storm, but they finally captured victory at home 44-16. The 8-try display was desperately needed and there was evidence early on that it was going to be the Storms day. They scored 4 tries inside 12 minutes. Different to previous matches, their execution was on point. With a 50% share of possession, they completed at 83%, made 9.1m per carry, had more PCM’s, and made 7 line breaks. Their defence was also strong, limiting their opponents to just 7.8m per carry. Now that they have set a new standard, the Storm must replicate this performance to climb away from 15th position on the competition ladder.

Stats that matter

- The Storm have won their past 7 games against the Eels, including their Round 1 fixture 52-4. They are further aided by a dominant 70% record at this ground; the Eels have a 47% strike rate here.

- In the past 5 matches between these two sides, blowout victories have regular, with only on game decided by fewer than 18 points. The average margin of victory is 28.4 points, with the average total points sitting at 53.2 points.

- Despite their struggles this season, the Storm still have a positive record compared to the Eels. They score an average of 24ppg in attack compared to the Eels 22ppg and allow just 27ppg, well behind the Eels average of 34ppg.

Time to climb up the ladder

The win last week for the Storm will go a long way to restoring their confidence. As good as the Eels were last week, a better team would’ve made them pay for simple mistakes. The Cowboys are not of that quality and while they sit higher on the ladder than the Storm, the impending Origin announcements mean the Storm must start to climb up the competition ladder. The only way to do that is with a commanding victory. A -34 points difference also needs to be overcome; this game offers the perfect opportunity to do that. The line is set far too low; they will know what areas they need to attack. That was evident in their opening round victory over the Eels and this game should follow a similar pattern. While they will need to work hard in the first half for this result, it appears to be value as the recent form of the Eels is overstated when, in reality, they still have a long way to go with key players missing from their team.

Eels vs Storm Same Game Multi

Leg 1 = Total points over 53.5 – see above for justification.

Leg 2 = Warbrick to score – critical of his efforts defensively, Warbrick has no issues in attack when facing the Eels. He has scored in each of his past 5 matches against them and will want to continue that run of form here.

Leg 3 = Grant to score – he crossed twice in Round 1 to take his tally to 6 tries in his past 5 matches against the Eels. Only once in that time has he not scored and just like last week, he will be an attacking threat inside the opposition 20m line.

Scooby's strength is assessing the overall team - what they offer across the field in a match and how the ethos of a club contributes to their success. Momentum also has a major impact on sports, and Scooby likes to explore this, while underpinning his judgement against a solid basis of statistical analysis. When combined with the aforementioned points, it combines for a holistic approach towards betting on rugby league.
