Sharks vs Bulldogs Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 11 2026

Disappointing and lacklustre; the Sharks were outplayed

As they faced an opponent missing several key players, the Sharks had high hopes of capturing victory on the road. It quickly became evident that this was beyond them as their opponents delivered a performance which left the visitors unable to match their enthusiasm or execution; they were eventually defeated 36-12 with two ‘garbage time’ tries to their name in the 72nd and 74th minute. The margin of victory was surprising considering that with 47% possession, they completed at 80%, averaged 8.9m per carry, had more PCM’s, and fewer missed tackles than their opponents. Then again, their attack lacked creativity and the Rabbitohs desire simply counted for more when it mattered most. These are alarming issues for the Sharks moving forward.

Issues everywhere and void of answers

It was yet another match of poor defence and looking lost in attack as they were defeated 44-12 by the Dolphins on the road. Trailing 14-12 at HT, hopes were high that they could go on with a strong performance. That was quickly erased as they were unable to match their opponents when they lifted the second half intensity. With just 44% possession and a 75% completion rate, it is little wonder why they were incapable. Despite making 9.6m per carry, they were behind their opponent in every major statistic. Producing just 3 line breaks and missing 40 tackles are the two most obvious, and embarrassing, areas which need the most attention moving forward. Unfortunately, this is also a team which looks void of answers when pressure is applied to them.

Stats that matter

- Both teams struggle at this venue. The Bulldogs only win 29% of matches, while the Sharks are slightly better with a 37% strike rate.

- The past 5 matches between these two sides have seen blowout scorelines, with only one decided by fewer than 14 points. The average margin of victory is 18ppgs, with low scoring totals, as the average total points sits at 34.8 points.

- It is no secret that the Bulldogs have struggled this season. Their attack lacks creativity and only averages 17ppg. The Sharks are much better, averaging 28ppg but have defensive issues to address. They concede 27ppg, slightly more than the Bulldogs 26ppg.

Closer than the odds suggest

Both sides receive a boost ahead of this fixture with key players returning. For the Sharks, they welcome back both Mulitalo and Ramien; unfortunately, this is off set by the losses of both McInnes and Brailey. Burton, King, and Mann all return for the Bulldogs and will play a key role in the success of their team. This sways the momentum towards the Bulldogs more than the odds suggest. The loss of Brailey at hooker hurts the Sharks. It has been 139 games since they have been without him, and his absence won’t be completely understood until the game is underway. There is no doubt that the Sharks have a great attacking ability and can score points quickly. That same execution has eluded the Bulldogs this season, with concerns also growing around their defensive make-up. If you must have a bet in this game, the best option is to invest around a tough contest. There is a strong case for either team winning and in an attacking contest, each should have numerous opportunities to cross for points.

Leg 1 = Total points under 50.5 – see above for justification.

Leg 2 = Iro to score – he has scored 8 tries in his past 5 NRL matches and is growing in confidence. He will relish the chance that Magic Round offers, as well as a less than impressive defensive line.

Leg 3 = Preston to score – he is the ‘magic man’ when it comes to Magic Round. No, he is not riding winners in Hong Kong; rather, he has 4 tries from his past 3 matches at this event.

Scooby's strength is assessing the overall team - what they offer across the field in a match and how the ethos of a club contributes to their success. Momentum also has a major impact on sports, and Scooby likes to explore this, while underpinning his judgement against a solid basis of statistical analysis. When combined with the aforementioned points, it combines for a holistic approach towards betting on rugby league.

Other sports he enjoys include Cricket, Horse Racing and NFL. There is a reason why Scooby ‘clicked’ with BYB from Day 1 - he loves his sport as much as we do.
