Pacers vs Thunder: NBA Finals Game 4 Predictions & Tips
Game 3 Recap
It was the Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin show in Game 3, as the Indiana Pacers held the first game on their home court, with a 116-107 victory over the OKC Thunder. Haliburton narrowly missed a triple double with a 22-9-11 game, as well as two steals and a block.
Mathurin led the charge off the bench with a game-high 27 points, shooting 9-12 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line. The Pacers bench came to play, finishing with 49 points compared to the Thunder’s 18. Supporting Mathurin was T.J. McConnell who was game-changing in his 15 minutes. McConnell finished the game with 10 points, five assists and five steals, including a whopping three steals from inbound passes alone.
For the Thunder, Jalen Williams led the scoring with 26 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 24 points. Chet Holmgren had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, although it was an inefficient 6-15 shooting display.
Breaking down the team stats, the Pacers shot 52% from the field despite only 33% from beyond the arc. The Thunder could only manage 79 field goal attempts for the game, largely due to the Pacers recording 13 steals for the game and the Thunder having 30 free throws.
Keys to Game 4: Here’s Our Pacers vs Thunder Tip
The Thunder have been excellent at bouncing back from a loss in the 2024-25 NBA Playoffs. In the second round, they lost in overtime 113-104 to the Denver Nuggets before winning 92-87 on the road. Then, in the Western Conference Finals, the Thunder once again quickly bounced back from a demolition 143-101 loss on the road to the Minnesota Timberwolves, winning Game 4 on the road 128-126.
Being the NBA’s best team during the regular season was no fluke, and OKC can look to continue to learn from recent defeats. Expect coach Mark Daigneault to make the right adjustments ahead of Game 4. One of those needs to be protecting SGA on the defensive end of the floor. With the reigning MVP having to exert so much energy offensively, he needs the chance to recuperate on the defensive end.
The Pacers to their credit, led by head coach Rick Carlisle, continuously ran plays that made Gilgeous-Alexander defend. He was the closest defender on 23 shots in Game 3, and this likely took its toll, forcing SGA to be more fatigued throughout the game.
OKC will need to make smart defensive rotations, and that should be the case in Game 4, as the NBA’s leading defensive unit can look to bounce back from a forgettable Game 3 loss.
The Thunder can take confidence in the fact that in the opening two games of the series, the Pacers led for around two minutes combined. That shows utter dominance from the Thunder.
Despite a 2-1 deficit, and playing on the road, the Thunder can produce one of their usual bounce-back games to even the series 2-2 before shifting back to Oklahoma City.

Pacers vs Thunder Same Game Multi
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 30+ points: SGA had a quiet Game 3 by his standards, forced to work harder on the defensive end. Expect teammates to enable SGA to return to his bulk-scoring duties.
Tyrese Haliburton 15+ points: Haliburton is stepping up as the series progresses, and he should be looking to score just as much as he looks to distribute in Game 4.
T.J. McConnell 4+ assists: The risk with McConnell is his limited minutes, but he was so vital in Game 3 that he could see closer to 20 minutes in this contest.
Chet Holmgren 8+ rebounds: With Isaiah Hartenstein playing 15-20 minutes, Holmgren can grab a lot more boards.
