Esports Betting Tips: Tuesday September 20th

September 20th 2022, 12:01pm, By: Michael Lee

Esports Betting Tips

Michael Lee brings you his top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive betting picks for three matches from the second series of CCT Central Europe. Today, he looks at BLUEJAYS vs HONORIS, Sinners Esports vs los kogutos, and Into the Breach vs Illuminar Gaming, who will meet in the second round High Matches on Tuesday, September 20.

Esports Betting Tips: Tuesday 20th September

BLUEJAYS vs HONORIS - CCT Central Europe Series #2

BLUEJAYS secured their first victory of CCT Central Europe Series #2 on Saturday, September 17, when they beat Nexus Gaming 2-0. BLUEJAYS were by far the better team that day, winning the series while dropping just 18 rounds (16-8 on Dust 2, 16-10 on Inferno).

But even though BLUEJAYS played well in the first round, they haven't shown much this month. They're 7-5 since the start of September, but they've not won against a single good team.

It's also important to mention that BLUEJAYS lost 1-16 against HONORIS just over a week ago, and yet they enter this match as 1.57 favourites. Even though BLUEJAYS played exceptionally poorly that day, they still lost and have not shown enough over the last eight days to be now considered as the better team.

Moreover, HONORIS have been playing well recently, winning all but four of their last 16 matches (12-4). So not only did HONORIS crush BLUEJAYS earlier this month, but they're also in excellent form ahead of this bout. I don't see a reason why HONORIS should be the underdog.

SINNERS Esports vs los kogutos - CCT Central Europe Series #2

Los kogutos might hold a 11-2 record, but this is not a very strong team, and their results against semi-capable squads show that. Despite winning a vast majority of their recent games, los kogutos have not faced a single strong team, so their form might be a bit misleading.

Their only notable victory over that stretch came against 9INE last week, but it was a close affair (16-14), and it was a local derby, which rarely paints a real picture. So even though you can't deny los kogutos' strong form, I would be careful not to overreact to it.

SINNERS Esports have played fewer games this month, but they're 5-0 in September, with wins against Crypt (16-5, 2-0), TITANS (2-1), Dyamo Eclot (2-0), and Dark Tigers (2-0). Not a very tough schedule, but still tougher compared to who los kogutos had to face.

Comparing the teams' past results, SINNERS Esports are in a better spot, but their success against stronger teams doesn't mean much in the context of this match. Los kogutos have solid players and can beat teams like SINNERS – even though we've yet to see them try.

This should be a much closer match than the odds suggest, so we'll take los kogutos at 2.25.

Into the Breach vs Illuminar Gaming - CCT Central Europe Series #2

Into the Breach won the tournament's first match against MOUZ NXT (2-0), but it's important to know that MOUZ NXT is not the same roster that dominated WePlay Academy League. All of MOUZ NXT's top players left for the main roster, leaving the academy team deprived of any serious talent.

So even though Into the Breach's sweep of MOUZ NXT sounds good, it's not a massive achievement. Besides that, we must also talk about what Into the Breach have achieved across the last month, and it doesn't look good.

They've won games here and there, but mainly against academy teams and weaker squads. So while Into the Breach should do fine in tournaments like CCT Central Europe Series #2, I would not consider them to be one of the top teams even at this level.

Illuminar Gaming have yet to play a match this tournament. They picked up a forfeit win against ENTERPRISE esports last round and are only now getting ready to play their 10th game of the month.

Of the nine games Illuminar have played so far, they've won just four against AVEZ, Thunder, Impress, and Partizan, but they've also lost against PACT, Turow, ESCA, UNGENT, and HONORIS. With results like that, I have no hope Illuminar can achieve anything in this event, and I wouldn't bet on them to come even close to beating Into the Breach.

Into the Breach have had their moments lately where they lost games they shouldn't have. But I will trust them to take down Illuminar in two straight maps.
