Saturday afternoon at the MCG will revolve around one man as Scott Pendlebury breaks the all-time VFL/AFL games record, surpassing Brent Harvey with his 433rd career appearance. The Magpies champion has built one of the greatest resumes the game has seen and Collingwood will be desperate to mark the occasion with a statement win against the Eagles in front of a packed house.

Collingwood vs West Coast Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 11
Magpies Looking To Feed Off The Occasion
Collingwood have had an up-and-down month, but this feels like the perfect opportunity to reset against a lower-ranked opponent on one of the club’s biggest home-and-away occasions in recent memory. Craig McRae’s side narrowly lost to Sydney last weekend after also falling heavily to Geelong, but there were still encouraging signs around territory and contest work despite the results.
Jordan De Goey looks back somewhere near his best form after consecutive 29 and 30-disposal performances, while Nick Daicos continues to produce elite numbers despite narrowly missing the 30 mark in recent weeks. Prior to those 28 and 29 disposal games, Daicos had rattled off seven straight matches of 30+ touches and remains the driving force behind Collingwood’s midfield and transition game.
Eagles Showing Genuine Improvement
West Coast’s season remains difficult overall, but the signs over the last three weeks have been far more encouraging. Before last weekend’s upset win over GWS, the Eagles had already become significantly more competitive, losing by just 11 and 32 points in the fortnight prior while showing much better contest work and midfield connection.
The win over the Giants was easily their most complete performance of the year. Harley Reid starred with 34 disposals and two goals, Tim Kelly continued his improved ball-winning form, while Bailey Williams dominated the ruck with 41 hit-outs and two goals. Defensively, the Eagles finally held up for four quarters as well, restricting GWS to just 71 points after weeks of leaking huge scores.
Pies or Eagles? Here’s our Tip!
Collingwood should still prove too strong in Pendlebury’s record-breaking game, particularly with the emotion and energy around the occasion likely to lift the Magpies early. Their pressure game at the MCG against younger sides remains one of the best weapons in the competition and they should generate plenty of repeat inside 50 opportunities across the afternoon.
But the line feels slightly too large given West Coast’s recent improvement. The Eagles have shown far better fight and structure over the last few weeks and should be highly motivated to play spoilers on such a significant day for Collingwood. After losing by just 11 and 32 points in the lead-up to last week’s win over GWS, taking West Coast at +47.5 looks the value angle in what should still be a comfortable Magpies win overall.

Collingwood vs West Coast Prop Bet
Scott Pendlebury under 28.5 disposals shapes as a sneaky value play despite the fairytale narrative around the game. There will understandably be plenty of focus on Pendles in his record-breaking appearance, but this line feels inflated purely because of the occasion. He has only cleared this number once all season — on ANZAC Day against Essendon when teammates were very clearly looking for him at every opportunity. With Daicos, De Goey and Crisp all handling plenty of midfield responsibility, the under appeals.

Nick Daicos 30+ disposals | Josh Daicos 20+ disposals | Tim Kelly 20+ disposals
Nick Daicos looks slightly overvalued this week because of the Pendlebury attention despite averaging 34.8 disposals this season. He narrowly missed 30 with 28 and 29 in the last fortnight, but prior to that posted monster totals of 39, 42 and 34. Josh Daicos continues to quietly tick over 20+ almost every week and shapes as a nice value booster, while Tim Kelly looks back in strong accumulating form with disposal totals of 30, 25 and 24 across his last three matches.
