Bulldogs vs Broncos Betting Tips

The final regular season round is upon us and with the Top 8 locked in for season 2026, some games now become meaningless. Unfortunately, the opening match of Round 27 is just that but what this game lacks in purpose will be made up by pride as the Bulldogs host the Broncos. It’s a fall from grace for both sides as they were present in the Finals in 2025. A win here could set them up for a successful 2027 campaign and Before You Bet is here to help make sense of this amongst the chaos with a detailed look at what is ahead.

Scooby is back with his preview and NRL tips for the Bulldogs vs Broncos!

Bulldogs vs Broncos Prediction & Tips: 2026 NRL Round 27

End of the line

The Bulldogs 2026 campaign officially ended last week following a 24-10 road loss to the Panthers. Always going to struggle with the class of their opponents, they were somewhat competitive in the first half, trailing 8-4 at HT. They conceded more points that they would’ve like to in the second half however, failing to make the most of their 84% completion rate. They made 8.1m per carry and an equal number of line breaks but missed 31 tackles to give their opponents momentum. Inconsistent form has plagued them throughout this season and just as they were improving, they will head into an off-season.

From bad to worse

There is no shortage of reports highlighting the issues at the Broncos. In their last home game of the season, they were embarrassed 46-20 by the Storm. The game was all but over at HT as they trailed 30-10. The result was made worse by the fact that they had a greater share of possession (51%), and a superior completion rate (73%). They were also poor turning their 8.5m per carry into points. To sum up the attitude of this team, they also missed 39 tackles. A lot must change in the next few months for the defending Premiers to overturn their fall from grace.

Stats that matter

- The Broncos recorded a 32-12 victory over the Bulldogs in Round 8 this year. That takes their record to 8 wins from the past 10 games against the Bulldogs. It helps that the Bulldogs have a 54% record here compared to the Broncos 45%.

- In the past 5 matches between these two sides, the average margin of victory is 18.6 points. They’ve been high scoring contests too, with an average of 53.8 total points.

- Both teams have struggled this season, averaging 19 points in attack. The difference between them comes in defence, where the Bulldogs allow just 21ppg compared to the Broncos 28ppg.

Motivation is the key

A lot was made of the Broncos execution or lack-thereof last week. Depending on who you listen to, it seems to rest with the attitude of the playing group. Regardless of the catalyst, it is a poor sign for a talented team. On their day, they have the capability to defeat most teams in the competition. The Bulldogs have hardly played with the required consistency to pressure their opponents but like the Broncos, they can execute well on their day. Whether it is their turn or the Broncos turn up and cause an upset, is a huge unknown.

The odds suggest that the Bulldogs will deliver in their final game of the season and the fact that they have named a strong enough team, with Mann expected to come in on game day, offers promise. It will be close than most think though, bringing the line and other options into play. Neither has the structured attacking to build on points but will provide their opponents opportunities to capitalise. Providing they do, the winner of this game may only emerge late.

Scooby is our NRL guru with over ten years experience writing about rugby league with Before You Bet and previously at The Profits. His background is in playing and coaching but he's enjoyed the switch to share his knowledge through his articles, as well as sharing his thoughts on Twitter.

Scooby's strength is assessing the overall team - what they offer across the field in a match and how the ethos of a club contributes to their success. Momentum also has a major impact on sports, and Scooby likes to explore this, while underpinning his judgement against a solid basis of statistical analysis. When combined with the aforementioned points, it combines for a holistic approach towards betting on rugby league.

Other sports he enjoys include Cricket, Horse Racing and NFL. There is a reason why Scooby ‘clicked’ with BYB from Day 1 - he loves his sport as much as we do.
