NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, March 28th 2023

Dallas Mavericks at Indiana Pacers

Gainbridge Fieldhouse, 10am AEDT

Both currently sitting outside a play-in sport in their respective conferences, the Dallas Mavericks and the Indiana Pacers will matchup on Tuesday in a victual game.

The Mavericks have been one of the biggest disappointments in the NBA since the trade deadline where they acquired Kyrie Irving. Expected to become a contender in the West, the Mavs have lost 13 of their last 18 games and are now one game outside the #10 seed.

The Pacers have also endured a tough time in recent weeks, in fact, they’ve been a poor team since the turn of the new year. They’ve put together a 10-24 record in 2023 and are currently 3.5 games behind the #10 seed, which seems a mountain too tall to climb on current form.

Both teams are in horrible form right now, but the Mavericks are still a legitimate chance of at least making the play-in tournament, so I expect them to be the hungrier dog in the fight. With that in mind, I’ll be backing them in to win for one unit.

Dallas Mavericks to Win

Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz

Vivint Arena, 12pm AEDT

The Phoenix Suns are desperate for wins to avoid slipping from the fourth seed in the Western Conference and will be tasked with fending off the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.

The Suns have found wins hard to come big over the past three weeks, going 2-6 during that span, however, they pulled off a fantastic victory in their most recent game against the red-hot 76ers, which could act as a springboard for their final few regular season games.

The Jazz were in the playoffs mix for most of this season but poor form has seen them drop down to 12th in the West and 1.5 games behind the #10 seed. The feeling throughout the season was that the Jazz were overachieving and would blow up their roster at the trade deadline, which was exactly what happened when they traded away a number of their key pieces.

The Suns are by far the more talented team in this matchup and their performance in their most recent game was fantastic. As long as they bring something close to that level again here, they’ll be more than fine against this current version of the Jazz.

Phoenix Suns -6.5

$1.90 (1.5 Units)

Minnesota Timberwolves at Sacramento Kings

Golden 1 Center, 1pm AEDT

The Minnesota Timberwolves have found some much-needed momentum and will look to keep it rolling when they travel to take on the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center.

The Timberwolves relied on their defence to get the job done against the Warriors on Monday, which usually isn’t the story with this team. They’ve now put together a timely three-game win streak that’s propelled them into #7 in the West, and only 1.5 games back from #4, such is the closeness of the conference this season.

The Kings are also on a mini win streak of their own after saluting in their past two games. They’ve been one of the big improvers this season and while other teams have gone through form slumps at different stages, the Kings have remained consistent with their performance, which is probably the most impressive aspect of their resurgence.

The Timberwolves will be on the second leg of a road back-to-back after playing against the Warriors on Monday, and now face one of the fastest pace teams in the competition. I expect the Kings to be too good down the stretch and to run away with a comfortable win.

Sacramento Kings -5.5

$1.90 (2.5 Units)
