The final UFC card of 2022 is upon us. In the main event Sean Strickland and Jared Cannonier go head-to-head while in the co-main Arman Tsarukyan meets Damir Ismagulov. In a main card featured bout Amir Albazi goes toe to toe with Alessandro Gomes who makes his UFC debut on the back of a seven-fight winning streak. We take a look at my three best bets on the card below to try to add a few extra bucks to the Christmas budget.
UFC Fight Night Betting Tips
Jared Cannonier vs. Sean Strickland
Both men come into this fight on the back of defeats. Jared Cannonier fell to former champion Israel Adesanya in a one-sided decision but away from Adesanya and Robert Whittaker ‘The Killa Gorilla’ has showed he is a top contender. His opponent Sean Strickland lost his last bout to now champion Alex Pereira with one of the worst game plans known to man, stand and try to out kickbox a multiple time world champion. Honestly this is Cannonier’s fight to lose. Strickland was devastatingly knocked out less than six months ago, has a striking disadvantage and doesn’t have the grappling to make Cannonier pay. He also seems absolutely devout of game plans in most of his fights and will throw himself into the fire with reckless abandon. If he does that here he will find out very quickly why Cannonier’s nickname is ‘The Killa Gorilla’. Back Cannonier to get back to winning ways.

Rafa Garcia vs. Maheshate
Rafa Garcia is a finisher and is one who despite being up and down in the UFC has plenty of potential. His opponent Maheshate was a prohibitive underdog on the Contender Series but proved everyone wrong flooring Stevie Garcia in just over a minute to earn a UFC contract. This is a massive step up in competition, however, as Garcia has five-round experience and will be in his face and working ruthlessly for all fifteen minutes. A competitive first round gives way to Garcia completely battering a gassed Maheshate. For those who bet live, I would be looking for an entry after round 1 for safety and potentially better odds, otherwise play pre fight with relative confidence.

Sergey Morozov vs. Journey Newson
When Sergey Morozov entered the UFC in 2019, he came in as the M-1 Bantamweight champion and with tonnes of promise. Since then, he has alternated wins and losses and struggled to establish himself in the premier MMA promotion. His opponent Journey Newson secured a win on his return from a failed drug test but is in for a rough night against Morozov. Morozov may not have lived up to what I thought he would be so far in his UFC career but this is as easy a fight as he will get in the UFC as he truly is better everywhere. Morozov pieces Newson up on the feet and mixes in takedowns to register a dominant win. Finishing the year with a max 5 stake play.
