Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday October 1st 2025

September 30th 2025, 2:16pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Sandown Racing Tips

Sandown Hillside hosts a seven race program on Wednesday and some young maidens get us started in races 1 and 2. We will concentrate on races 3, 4 and 5 though with some good bets coming up in those races. The track at Hillside has dried out on Monday and we are expecting a Good3 surface on the day. Race one will start at 2pm with the first leg of the quaddie commencing at 3:45pm (AEST).

Brendan Bunworth brings you his Sandown best bets for the day below as well as his Quaddie selections, with odds thanks to Ladbrokes. And if you’re after more free tips for this week's key meetings, then head over to our Racing Tips!

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, October 1st 2025

Race 3: Sportsbet Fastform Handicap 1300m - 3:10pm (AEST)

(5) Enamarada looked the goods on debut when winning by a massive 6L at Ballarat on a Good surface. The Gavin Bedggood trained mare settled handy on that occasion and from barrier 4 should get a similar run in this event. Ethan Brown stays on and the mare is only rising 100m in distance which is ideal at this early stage of her career.

(7) Siesta has run 3 seconds on a Good track and she should be placing again. Won well last start but the fav in this race looks pretty sharp.

(2) Sea Poem was a long well back last start but still won after storming home. The long straight here might suit and Dan Stackhouse is more than capable, he replaces Shinn. Going for three on the bounce.

(5) Enamorada WIN

$2.30 (3 units)

Race 4: Stow Storage Solutions Handicap 1600m - 3:45pm (AEST)

(3) Presser has good form on Dry tracks and even though he hasn’t won yet for Beau Mertens he has run 4 placings for him. He hasn’t won in a while (9 months) but he is very fit now after 4 runs this prep and he should be cherry ripe dropping back in class in this race. He has won  on 4 occasions over the mile.

(7) Acta Non Verba scored a win from barrier 2 last start and he gets the same barrier in this race. He remains at the mile and the Danny O’Brien trained gelding has raced in harder races than this before.

(4) Shockletz has drawn the inside and she is first up after a small spell. He has had 2 jumpouts leading into this race and he has won on 4 occasions from just 7 rides for Harry Coffey. Consistent and has run top 4 in his last 5 starts.

(3) Presser WIN

$3.80 (2 units)

Race 5: Sportsbet Get On Extra Handicap 1800m - 4:20pm (AEST)

(3) Zambardo for the Manikato Stakes winning Mick Price & Micheal Kent Jr have an exciting prospect in this race with the favourite. She was well back at Sale last start on a Good3 and he stormed home to win and he will get similar conditions here. Blake Shinn won on top on that day, he is not riding here but Ethan Brown is and he has been victorious on top too. The 4 year old is going for 3 in a row here and it could easily be 4 in a row if it wasn’t for losing by a nose at Lakeside in August.

(8) The Printer is big odds but can place in this if he settles in a similar position to last time from a good barrier in 3. Has placed twice for Craig Newitt before and he rise to 1800m for this first time.

(1) Emphasize has drawn wide in 11 and will need luck. He hasn’t placed this prep but should be close to the top 3 at his third run in.

(3) Zambardo WIN

$2.00 (4 units)
