AFL Daily Fantasy Lineup Tips: Round 11 Saturday
AFL Fantasy Round 11 Saturday: Where to Attack?
In the opening matchup, both North Melbourne and Gold Coast are actually fairly solid defensively from a fantasy perspective, with neither side giving up huge numbers across most positions. The one clear avenue of attack could be the Roos inside midfielders, with the Suns ranking third in fantasy points allowed to that position this season.
As always, rucks against Geelong immediately jump off the page. The Cats continue to rank near the top of the league in points conceded to opposition rucks and it remains one of the longest standing DFS trends in AFL fantasy. On the other side of the ball, Sydney are the stingiest fantasy defence in the competition overall, which makes Geelong players difficult to trust outside of a few select contrarian builds.
Collingwood players meanwhile are a massive green light across the board against West Coast. Midfielders, forwards and defenders have all consistently produced ceiling games against the Eagles this season and in a match that has effectively been billed as Scott Pendlebury’s celebration game, you can bet plenty of DFS players will be stacking the Pies heavily.
Carlton continue to allow big fantasy scores to opposition rucks, wings and running half backs, while Port Adelaide remain fairly disciplined and stingy across most positions themselves.
Game script: Collingwood midfielders and forwards, Sydney and Port Adelaide rucks, North Melbourne midfielders and Port defenders.
AFL Fantasy Round 11 Saturday: Our Value Fantasy Picks
Jacob Wehr ($8,380) - Wehr had a fairly modest outing against the Bulldogs last week with 60 fantasy points, but the role still looked solid and he posted 74 the week prior from 17 disposals. This matchup against Carlton shapes nicely for his scoring profile given the Blues consistently allow points to running defenders and outside midfielders.
Roan Steele ($7,820) - We are loading up on Collingwood midfielders against West Coast again this week and Steele shapes as one of the better salary-saving options. He already has three scores above 70 this season and two of those came against weaker opposition in Carlton and Essendon, so there is every chance that trend continues against the Eagles.
AFL Fantasy Round 11 Saturday: Our Mid-Priced Fantasy Picks
Jordan Sweet ($12,150) - Most of the field will likely flock towards Brodie Grundy in the marquee ruck matchup against Geelong, but Sweet could be a really interesting mid-priced pivot. Carlton continue to give up huge scores to opposition rucks and Sweet has already shown the ability to capitalise on softer matchups this year, including a 101-point outing against the Cats just a few weeks ago.
Ned Long ($11,310) - Again, this slate shapes as a really strong opportunity to stack Collingwood players and Long fits nicely into that setup. He has been consistent without fully exploding this season, but this feels like the type of matchup where he can rediscover some of the strong fantasy form he showed throughout stretches of last year.
AFL Fantasy Round 11 Saturday: Our Premium Fantasy Picks
Harry Sheezel ($16,680) - As strong as Gold Coast look on paper through the midfield, they still tend to give up massive numbers to opposition primary ball winners because of how aggressively they attack offensively. That sets up beautifully for Sheezel, who should once again dominate North Melbourne’s midfield usage and rack up possessions regardless of the final result. Even if the Roos are comfortably beaten, the ceiling here still looks enormous.
