Sandown Lakeside hosts an eight race program on Wednesday with the first race starting at 1pm (AEST). The three year olds start us off but I have left that race alone and concentrated on three races later in the program. The track is currently rated a Soft6 after 15-20mls fell on the track on the weekend. There are some heats being run over the mile and our first bet comes up in race three.
Check out our best bets and Quaddie selections below and good luck to everyone following along!

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 15th 2026
Race 3: MRC Foundation National Apprentice Race Series Heat 9 1600m - 2:10pm (AEST)
(1) Otago is resuming from a spell and most of his good races have been on a Dry track but he won his Cranbourne jumpout on April 6 and he looks to be a gelding on the up. He has finished in the placings twice over the mile and his first up form is good which includes a win and a second. Luke Cartwright gets the claim. He is in an in-form stable and he is overdue for a win.
(5) Torn is racing well without winning and he did run on well for 3rd at this track last start. Before that run he held up well in a harder race at Caulfield (3rd) and he does have the ability to run on strongly for Ben Brisbourne.
(3) Enchanted Jenni has placed three times from four starts on the Soft and he has won 2 races already in this grade. First look at Lakeside but he has won three races over this distance.
(1) Otago Each-Way
$4.00/$1.60 (1U/2U)
Race 6: Sportsbet Get On Extra Handicap 1000m - 3:55pm (AEST)
(3) Magnabelle Royale is unbeaten and the three-year-old filly can salute again over a trip she enjoys. She led, kicked and won at Cranbourne last start and Emily Pozman might try and find the front again here from barrier 8. She had barrier 7 last start and got over and she is even unbeaten in this preps jumpouts too. Toughest test but is up to it.
(2) In Haste comes over from New Zealand and had Craig Williams on top when winning a trial on March 26 (Caulfield Heath). Proven on Soft ground.
(8) Tres Magnifique is having her first try on Soft ground and is even money. On speed runner who won by 7L last start when starting $1.35. Harder here, no real knocks but $1.90 is too short.
(3) Magnabelle Royale Each-Way
$4.80/$1.75 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Sportsbet SameRace Multi Handicap 1400m - 5:05pm (AEST)
(1) Alero gets young Molly Gail Boruke on top and gets a claim and might need it from barrier 12. The four-year-old gelding is hard fit and if the track gets an upgrade to a Soft5 his chances are increased more. He usually settles on speed so Bourke will need to steer him across without using too much petrol early. He led and just got rolled last start at Caulfield and he remains at the 1400m here. Led and won at Pakenham on March 5.
(7) Dollar Chaser got done by a neck last start after running on well at Geelong. He is very experienced and also has an experienced jockey in Jamie Mott on and I think he will take him back.
(2) Damas has drawn inside and may settle closer to the pace in this race. Brad Rawiller settled him midfield last start at Waracknabeel before winning; he has had a good, consistent 12 months.
(1) Alero Each-Way
$4.40/$1.80 (1 Unit)
