The NBA rolls into April with a fresh midweek slate for us Aussies on Wednesday April 1, 2026 (AEDT). Games kick off from 10am, so I’ve locked in three matchups that stand out for real value based on current standings, recent form from the last few weeks, ATS trends and the latest head-to-head results. Just note that the below previews were written on Tuesday morning, and some teams played another game on Tuesday afternoon.
Check out our best plays for Wednesday below and good luck to everyone following along!

NBA Betting Tips: Wednesday, April 1st 2026
Phoenix Suns at Orlando Magic (10:00 am AEDT)
Phoenix heads east as slight underdogs and they have been a bit up and down lately, dropping seven of their last ten games while struggling to find consistency on the road against physical teams. They still sit at 41-33 overall and carry a strong 45-29 ATS record this season, but the recent trend has been shaky away from home.
Orlando sits at 39-35 and has been solid at home, winning five of their last eight with some good defensive outings. They have taken three of the last five meetings against the Suns, including the most recent one in Phoenix. No major injury flags for either side beyond normal rest.
This feels like one of those tight, grind-it-out games where the total sits at 225.5. The Magic’s home edge and the Suns’ patchy recent road form make Orlando the side to back here. I like them to cover the small number and keep things close.
Orlando Magic -2.5

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets (10:30 am AEDT)
Charlotte rolls into Barclays Center as big favourites and they have been flying lately, winning eight of their last ten games with some really convincing results against weaker Eastern sides. They sit at 39-36 overall and boast a very strong 46-29 ATS record this season, especially when facing teams near the bottom of the standings.
Brooklyn is dead last at 18-57 and has been struggling badly at home, losing seven of their last ten and getting blown out in plenty of those. The Hornets have owned this matchup, winning the last six meetings between the two, often by double digits.
This one looks like a straight-up mismatch where Charlotte should control the tempo from the start and pull away. The -15.5 spread is big but the Hornets’ current momentum and Brooklyn’s ongoing issues make it a solid play to cover comfortably.
Charlotte Hornets -15.5

New York Knicks at Houston Rockets (11:00 am AEDT)
The Knicks make the trip to Houston as narrow favourites in what should be a proper scrap. New York sits at 48-27 and has been fairly solid lately, winning six of their last ten while mixing in some tough losses. They carry a respectable 39-37 ATS record and have been reliable in road games against Western teams.
Houston sits at 45-29 and has been competitive at home, winning five of their last eight with some strong defensive efforts, but they have dropped a few covers against quality Eastern visitors. The two sides have split the last four head-to-heads pretty evenly, with the home team taking the most recent one.
This projects as a physical, back-and-forth battle with the total at 218.5. The Knicks bring a bit more consistency right now and the small spread gives them some room. I lean New York to grind it out and cover the -1.0 on the road in what could be a close one.
New York Knicks -1.0
